Experience SingleThread Through This New Culinary Biking Trip
Looking to experience dinner at one of the country's best restaurants? You're going to have to burn a few calories first before you're allowed to take a seat. Cycling vacation outfitter Trek Travel is giving diners a new way to experience the 11-course meal at two-Michelin-star restaurant SingleThread via a new weekend-long experience.
The trip gives riders the opportunity to explore the best of wine country, taking them on a tour of the region's best vineyards (wine-tasting rooms included) and sights, including the world-renowned Russian River Valley and Northern California's famous redwood forests.
After your 40-mile journey (there are shorter routes, too, if you feel like you just took off your training wheels), you'll finally sit down to Kyle and Katina Connaughton's legendary, hyper-seasonal menu before retreating to your suite upstairs at the inn. And once you've finished with the next day's workout, you'll gather with the rest of SingleThread's overnight guests for the Connaughton's new communal donabe dinner.
Of course, you can still grab a table at the Healdsburg dining room the old-fashioned way, which doesn't involve strapping on a bike helmet or, more importantly, working up an appetite.
