Food Network Pulls Shows From Netflix
That means no Giada De Laurentiis and no Alton Brown
Those who like to Netflix and chill with old episodes of Food Network shows like Alton Brown's Good Eats, Ace of Cakes, Iron Chef America and Giada at Home have just a month and a half left to get their fix.
Come the end of the year, all of the Food Network shows on Netflix will disappear, along with the shows from other members of the Scripps Networks family, meaning the Cooking Channel and the Travel Channel as well.
According to Fox, Ken Lowe, the COO of the company, explains, "If you look at where the industry is going . . . we just see a lot of opportunities . . . ." So perhaps those shows will pop up on other streaming services down the line.
In the meantime, Netflix is still working on another season of its hit docuseries, Chef's Table, which will release in 2017, and Brown's launching a sequel to Good Eats as a web series. So there will be plenty of delicious things to hunker down and watch this winter.
