While new kitchen appliances and cookware are constantly popping up on the market, there are a few old-school items we can't live without—Dutch ovens, cast-iron skillets and saucepans. We cook and bake pretty much everything in these versatile pans and take care of them as if they were our children.

But these workhorses have an another use. Instead of storing them in a drawer or closet, try incorporating them into your decor. According to Pinterest's home report, more people than ever are choosing cast-iron over nonstick pans and using them as colorful accents in the kitchen.

Place a few of them together on a top shelf, hang them on a pot rack or simply keep them on your stove when you're not using them as a nice pop of color in your kitchen.
