In addition to house-made pastas and vibrant antipasti boards, casual downtown gem The Sosta will now team up with an all-female roster for monthly collaborations.
The series kicks off with a special pasta from Katie Parla, noted food writer and authority on all things Rome. Her Spaghetti AOPC, created with The Sosta chef Ali LaRaia, features ajo (garlic), ojo (oil), peperoncino (red pepper) and colatura. And tonight's the perfect time to go try it, as Parla will be on-site from 5 to 7 p.m. signing copies of her award-winning cookbook, Tasting Rome.
The Sosta cofounder Samantha Wasser is excited "to partner together with women we admire and respect," saying that it's an opportunity to "support one another and celebrate all that these talented women have accomplished."
The series highlights women across all industries—not just food—which is why you'll see Morgan Curtis, founder of luxury sleepwear company Morgan Lane, in addition to Top Chef judge (and spaghetti pie lover) Gail Simmons. Upcoming guests also include Man Repeller founder Leandra Medine and Alison Roman, whose cookbook, Dining In, is inspiring a new wave of home cooks.
