SF Michelin-Starred Restaurants 2019 - Atelier Crenn

Finally, a woman chef is at the helm of one of them

The Michelin Guide just announced their 2019 guide, and French chef Dominique Crenn is the name of the hour. With the promotion of Atelier Crenn from two to three stars, Crenn is the first woman in the country to boast the three-star distinction.

Michelin notes the restaurant's "wonderful balance of grace, artistry, technical ability and taste." Crenn's newly opened wine bar Bar Crenn also made the list, with one star. Sonoma gem SingleThread, run by Kyle and Katina Connaughton, also received three stars.

With a total of eight, San Francisco is the city with the most three-Michelin-starred restaurants in the country. New York, whose stars were doled out earlier this month, has five.
