McDonald's Recalls Fitness Bands
Children are not 'loving' the new STEP-iT trackers
McDonald's is recalling 29 million of its STEP-iT activity wristbands after children complained of skin irritation, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. After more than 70 incidents were reported, McDonald's issued a full recall with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, with an additional 3.6 million being recalled in Canada.
Patty Davis, a spokeswoman with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, told the Chicago Tribune, "This is a large recall. Most recalls that we do don't have any incidents involved at all."
The Activity Counter and Light-up Band wristbands, which are manufactured in China, were featured in Happy Meals and Mighty Kids Meals. If your child (or you, no judgment) has recently received one of the faulty bands, you can trade it in at your local McDonald's restaurant for a new toy or apple slices.
