In the world of hot chicken, Prince's in Nashville is king. The spot, which was first called The BBQ Hot Chicken Shack when it opened in 1936, is believed to be where the original famous addictive but sweat-inducing recipe comes from. Now, that recipe has traveled across the country to Los Angeles.

Kim Prince, the niece of André Prince Jeffries, who operates Prince's back in Nashville, is running a hot chicken pop-up called Hotville in Chinatown on Saturdays, serving her family recipe, Eater LA reports. "We decided to call it Hotville because people in L.A. don’t know the Prince name, but the chicken is exactly the same," she says.

It comes in heat levels that range from the tame Cali Mild to Music City Medium and up to the maximum Nashville Hot. There are also sides like baked beans and potato salad, and, as is tradition, the chicken comes with white bread and pickles.

The pop-up is open on Saturdays only at the moment, but Prince hopes to expand the hours to Friday and Sunday, and ultimately to the weekdays as well. Meanwhile, those with cravings during the week can check out Howlin' Ray's, another hot chicken destination, which opened in Chinatown last year, but be prepared for lines.
