Give yourself an extra pat on the back: Thanks to you, there's a new symbol of America joining the ranks of apple pie, the bald eagle and red, white and blue Chubbies, and it's name (for now) is Mayochup.
After igniting an Internet war last week, Heinz left the decision to bring its new condiment hybrid stateside in our hands. And after almost a million votes, the country has decided that mayonnaise and ketchup do, in fact, belong in the same bottle.
Though, the one thing more controversial about the sauce itself is what its name should actually be.
But it should have been called Ketchonaise— Andy Lancaster (@andylancaster) April 11, 2018
Just call it "Fry Sauce" and be done with it— Tommy (@tommyjoeavery) April 16, 2018
It seems like Heinz can't decide either, so for now, the brand is asking us to exercise our Internet voices once again to come up with something better.
We heard you saucy Americans and we’re bringing you our version of the delicious duo you’ve been eating for years. Are you Team Mayochup or should we call it something else? Let us know your thoughts! pic.twitter.com/q0PRofYOO5— Heinz Ketchup (@HeinzKetchup_US) April 16, 2018
