There's never really been a shortage of places in NYC to satisfy a cavity-inducing afternoon sugar craving, but all the same, we'll never turn down another new restaurant to grab dessert. Case in point: sherry b dessert studio, which just opened its doors in the Meatpacking District.
Pastry chef Sherry Blockinger's famed sweets flagship combining her French techniques with American classics has finally made the move into the city after spending six years up north in Chappaqua. Thankfully, all of the desserts have made the journey intact, including her brownies stuffed with salted caramel and her enormous s'mores.
It's a dessert bar worth braving even today's snowstorm for, especially when homemade ice cream sandwiches like the purple velvet (cream cheese ice cream and purple velvet cake), the blackout (dark chocolate ice cream with fudgy chocolate cake) and the fluffernutter (peanut butter and marshmallow ice cream on banana bread) are on the line.
Blockinger isn't stopping at just desserts, though, at this 22-seat café: Swing by in the morning for a savory blue corn and white cheddar scone; come lunchtime, head back for entirely edible cheese boards made of giant buttermilk crackers, plus savory cacio e pepe cheese puffs.
