New Ice Cream Flavors From Ben & Jerry's

Ben & Jerry's releases three new Core ice cream flavors

Get your lactaid pills out: Ben & Jerry's just launched three new flavors. These new kids on the block join an already impressive lineup in the Cores collection, which are tubs of ice cream, each with a pillar of fudge, raspberry jam or whatever else right in the center. Those who follow Ben & Jerry's on Snapchat got the inside scoop yesterday, but now the news is out, and pints are starting to hit supermarket freezers across the country. Luckily, we scored an advance taste of the flavors, and here's our take.

Brownie Batter is the first in the Cores family to have a brownie-based center. You can revisit your childhood pastime of licking the spoon when someone made brownies—but with the added bonus of fudgy brownie bits and some chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

Eating the Core flavors is an art: The optimal bite has equal amounts of ice cream, gooey center and mix-ins. However, you'll want to double up on the caramel core for Coconuts for Caramel. It's perfectly smooth and reminds us of everyone's favorite Girl Scout cookie.

Our personal favorite, Cookies & Cream Cheesecake, has a sweet cheesecake core, which is another first for the Cores. Imagine putting a slice of Oreo cheesecake in the blender, stirring in chocolate ice cream, and that's the joy you'll experience from a mouthful of this one.

It's been quite the month for Ben & Jerry's, as the news comes just a few weeks after the company announced its line of four vegan ice creams. Whatever comes next, we'll be ready, spoon in hand.
