Sorry, Chipotle

Despite Chipotle's persistent efforts to win back customers after the E. coli and norovirus outbreaks, another Mexican chain has risen to the top as America's favorite.

According to Harris Poll's annual EquiTrend study, Moe's Southwest Grill has beat out both Taco Bell and Chipotle for the number one spot (with Chipotle not even making the top three). This is the second year in a row Moe's has won, even though the chain has significantly less stores than its competitors.

In spite of Chipotle constantly releasing new campaigns about using fresh ingredients and the safety precautions it's implementing at its locations, this study is just another example of its negative reputation.

Moe's was founded in 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia, and is part of the same company that operates shopping mall mainstays Auntie Anne’s® Pretzels, Carvel® Ice Cream and Cinnabon® Bakery.
