Salt Fat Acid Heat is a four-episode series based on (and named after) Samin Nosrat's James Beard Award-winning cookbook, which is all about the elements that she believes are central to what we eat. "I've spent my entire life in pursuit of flavor," she says in the trailer. "The more I travel and taste the different cuisines of the world, the more I realize that good cooking is universal."

Nosrat, who's been called "America's next great cooking teacher" by Alice Waters and taught Michael Pollan how to cook, is more than a trustworthy instructor. She's a joy to watch on screen as she travels to Italy, Japan, the Yucatán and more in order to share culinary traditions from around the world.
