David Chang's New Netflix Show

'Ugly Delicious' is hitting screens next month

Now that you've made your way through every season of Chef's Table, get ready for your next Netflix assignment: David Chang's new docuseries, Ugly Delicious.

The Momofuku founder is traveling the world to meet with the food industry's most renowned figures: René Redzepi of Noma, acclaimed Mexican chef Enrique Olvera and former New York Times food critic Ruth Reichl, just to name a few. The eight-episode season has Chang uncovering how food is being used to "break down cultural barriers, tackle misconceptions and uncover shared experiences." It also means you'll see less of the insides of polished, high-end kitchens in favor of moments, such as how people are recreating Neapolitan pizza in Tokyo and what home cooking in Copenhagen is really like outside of new Nordic restaurants.

"Food is something we all have in common. It's an essential part of who we are and how we create connections across cultures," Chang says. He describes the show as a place where "it's okay to have strong opinions and honest conversations about food."

Don't cancel this weekend's plans just yet though: The series doesn't premiere until February 23.
