You don't have to travel all the way to Colombia to get a taste of its burgeoning cocktail scene (although we highly recommend it). This autumnal sipper is adapted from the talented bartenders at El Barón in Cartagena, who are on the forefront of craft cocktails in the area. Pink peppercorns and cinnamon add a subtle spice that will keep your cocktail hour on point with the fall weather.

For the Spiced Plum Jam:
¼ cup plum jam
½ teaspoon ground pink peppercorns
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Cocktail:
1½ ounces silver tequila
½ ounce Cointreau
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
2 bar spoons spiced plum jam
2 dashes orange bitters
Whole pink peppercorns, for garnish
1. Make the spiced plum jam: In a small bowl, combine the jam, pink peppercorns and cinnamon. Let sit for 10 to 15 minutes for the flavors to meld.
2. Make the cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine all of the ingredients and fill with ice. Shake until chilled and fine-strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with pink peppercorns and serve.
