Use good ingredients to make this breakfast cocktail—not yesterday's espresso. A cooler update of the espresso martini, the simple drink is easy to put together a couple hours in advance, making it the perfect cocktail for entertaining.

Nigori sake is unfiltered and the sweetest of all sakes. It lends a reminiscent creaminess of, dare we say, Kahlúa, but with a sophisticated flavor that isn't cloying.

Cold Brew White Russian

Recipe adapted from Anthony Myint, Lt. Waffle, San Francisco, CA

Yield: 4 servings

Total Time: 5 minutes


4 ounces cold brew concentrate, undiluted

16 ounces nigori sake

4 teaspoons organic cane sugar

Large ice cubes, for serving


In a small pitcher, stir together the cold brew, sake and sugar. Pour into 4 ice-filled tumbler glasses and serve.
