We're suckers for a good musical, which is why we're all about the year's buzziest film, La La Land. With the growing number of movie theaters serving food and cocktails, it is only appropriate that we unite our love for this picture with our love for hard liquor and a recipe from the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Brooklyn. Aged rum is shaken with honey syrup and lime juice before getting topped with Prosecco for a romantically sweet cocktail to enjoy during the show.

Aged Rum and Honey Cocktail
Recipe adapted from Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Brooklyn, NYYield: 1 cocktail
Prep Time: 5 minutes, plus cooling time
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes, plus cooling time
Ingredients
For the Honey Syrup:
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons water
For the Cocktail:
1½ ounces Brugal Añejo rum
1 ounce honey syrup
¾ ounce lime juice
Ice
1 ounce Prosecco
1 dash Angostura bitters, for garnish
1 mint leaf, for garnish
Directions
1. Make the honey syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the honey and water over medium-high heat. Cook until the honey has dissolved, 1 to 2 minutes. Let cool completely.
2. Make the cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine the rum, honey syrup, lime juice and ice. Shake until well chilled, then strain into a chilled coupe glass. Top with Prosecco, garnish with a dash of bitters and a mint leaf, then serve.
