The famed Sazerac Bar at The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans shares the recipe for their milky morning tippling and breakfast drink--the Ramos Gin Fizz.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces gin, preferably Plymouth
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon orange flower water
  • 1 ounce heavy cream
  • ½ ounce fresh lemon juice
  • ½ ounce fresh lime juice
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • Ice
  • 1 ounce soda water

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except for the ice and soda water in a cocktail shaker and shake for 2 minutes. Add ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds more.
  2. Pour the mixture into a Collins glass with the soda water. The drink should be thick enough to float a straw in the center.
