Sabra Issues Hummus Recall

Check the date

If you are planning on serving hummus or another Sabra dip as a Thanksgiving appetizer, you might want to check the date on the package first. The company just recalled most of its products that have a "best before" date up to and before January 23, 2017. Testers for the company found listeria in the manufacturing facility but not in sample tests of the final product. Just to be safe, the company is asking people to throw away the products and file for product replacement coupons.

There are, however, a few exceptions. Sabra Organic Hummus, the company's brand of guacamole and salsa, and its Greek yogurt dips are all safe to eat.

Meanwhile, if you would like your own hummus, this recipe's a cinch.
