Allison is a New York City-based freelance writer and a student at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. Before graduate school, they were an assistant media editor at W.W. Norton & Company, a publisher of college textbooks, as well as trade and professional titles. She also previously lived in Bangkok, where they wrote on topics related to food, culture, and travel for outlets like Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, AFAR Magazine, DestinAsian, Hidden Compass, and Roads & Kingdoms. Since then, she has also written features and news stories for Grub Street and Crain's Detroit Business. Their writing is forthcoming at the Guardian.


Allison is a student at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, and they have a bachelor's in English literature from CUNY Hunter College. Both schools are located in Manhattan.
