New Year's Resolution Products

Products and gadgets to help you keep resolutions

All too often, New Year's resolutions fall by the wayside. Based on your personal promises, we've found four products that will keep you on track in 2013:

Hydrate: We love Soma's beautiful glass carafesĀ and vegan, compostable water filters. New filters are delivered to your door every two months via subscription ($15 per filter; subscription prices to be announced), so replacing them is never a worry. The company is in Kickstarter mode now, so get in early.

Start Juicing: The price of most quality juicers can be a deterrent to joining the movement. A powerful motor drives Breville's Hemisphere Control Blender, which has two sets of stainless-steel blades to ensure a smooth juice. And at $300, the gadget costs hundreds less than similar models.

Grow Your Own Food: Put your windowsill to work with recycled-steel planters from Potting Shed Creations ($40 each). The Veggie version will sprout Red Acre cabbage, mini carrots and Tom Thumb peas; plant the Spice box for organic Japanese mibuna mustard, daikon radish and shungiku chrysanthemum.

Entertain More: Peg and Awl's board set ($44), made from reclaimed oak with an olive-oil finish, does double duty as cutting board and serving piece, with a convenient trench for spices, sauces or olives.
