Gluten-Free Granola From Blissful Eats
It all began when she tried to coax her husband to eat breakfast.
A few years ago, Nicole Culver, then a teacher, experimented with healthful granola recipes and loved the process so much that she enrolled in an Integrative Nutrition program and later launched her company, Blissful Eats, in 2011.
Her inspired granola ($2.50 for 2 ounces; $7.25 for three 2-ounce packages; $7 for 10 ounces), in flavors like honey-blueberry, goji-berry-cacao and peanut-butter-and-chocolate, is entirely natural and gluten-free, make with organic ingredients that include flax meal, chia seeds, crisped rice and sliced almonds. There's no sugar added, and each serving of the granola contains eight grams of protein.
Culver recommends spooning the honey-blueberry over chia pudding with raw almond butter, or sprinkling the rich peanut-butter-and-chocolate variety over plain yogurt.
Culver will debut a line of gluten-free nut-and-chocolate bars in early 2013; we won't need any coaxing to give them a try.
