One part speakeasy, one part Hard Rock, this hidden North Beach bar keeps fostering bar talent and putting out intriguing drinks: fizzes with absinthe and strawberry-thyme shrub; a hurricane with passionfruit purée and rhum agricole. As of last week, the food has been taken over by Justin Deering, former chef de cuisine of Café des Amis, so expect the menu to shift bistro-ward.
