Pier 94

This ceviche bar and Peruvian restaurant's colorful menu makes up for the drab downtown surroundings. We're still craving the complimentary chifles (salty fried plantain chips) appetizer, served with a creamy huacatay (Peruvian herb) sauce. Try the Pier classic ceviche ($9.94) with the fish of the day, served with lime and both dried and fresh giant Peruvian corn kernels.  Follow that with steak chaufa ($10.94), the Peruvian version of fried rice, mottled with red pepper, green onion and fried egg.
