Hank's Restaurant In Austin
From the owners of Henri's comes a new all-day café
Husband-and-wife team Andy Means and Jessie Katz don't mind in the slightest if you call Hank's, their newly opened restaurant, a comeback. After losing their first spot, Henri's, to a fire back in 2016, the young restaurateurs are finally back with an all-day café that does triple duty as your morning coffee shop, lunchtime meeting place and after-work hangout.
The 8,500-square-foot space includes a massive outdoor patio, along with a drive-thru where Windsor Park residents can swing by for nostalgically tuned comfort food. Though, what you pick up from that to-go window is far from soggy fries: Burgers are draped in sharp cheddar and Dijonaise, appetizers include wood-fired artichokes, and the fusilli for tomato vodka sauce is made in-house.
"We're beyond excited to open our doors to Austin in the growing Windsor Park neighborhood," Katz says. "It was important for us to create an open space where all our guests feel welcome."
That welcoming environment extends to the evening, where cocktails like a spicy margarita and a vodka-spiked tonic are on tap, alongside a drinks menu of frozen Palomas and rose-infused French 75s, plus a wine list reminiscent of Henri's. Even this new restaurant's name is a tribute to the owners' original resto: Henri is Means's grandfather, who also went by the nickname Hank.
