National Grilled Cheese Day is here, and the only thing better than spending your lunch eating the beloved melty sandwich is eating one you don't even have to pay for.
Head to Cheese Grille on the Lower East Side, where any sandwich, whether it's the Buffalo chicken with cheddar or the Gruyère-filled ham and cheese, is on the house. (Since you're already getting a free entrée, you might as well fork over a few dollars for some mac and cheese, too.) The giveaway goes from 3 to 8 p.m.
Can't make those hours? Visit Murray's: The popular shop is offering free vouchers for its signature Murray's Melt to the first 100 customers who make purchases at the Bleecker Street location. It will also continue the celebration with new types of grilled cheese sandwiches every Monday for the month of April.
