What To Do In NYC This Weekend April 6 To 8

Celebrate April's arrival and grab a pastry from a bake sale for a cause

You made it to April—kick off the month with a bar crawl in honor of National Beer Day, then step up your knife skills at a culinary class and spend Sunday sipping countless Bloody Marys.

Friday, April 6

National Beer Day Bar Crawl

After work, head to House of Brews to kick off a three-venue bar crawl. Ticket holders get open bar passes to all locations until 9 p.m.

Saturday, April 7

Little Caribbean Food + Culture Crawl

Explore Flatbush's Little Caribbean district during this walking tour and sample the cuisine's staples (such as beef patties and samples of rhum) as you learn more about this culinary-centered neighborhood.

Breaking Up with Plastic

Kick off Earth Month with this workshop that will teach you how to reduce the amount of plastic you use in your cooking. The event will also include snacks from Beyond Sushi.

Dinner in the Dark

There's no Instagramming possible at this unique dining experience, as guests will be blindfolded throughout the entirety of the multicourse meal, making the smells, textures and tastes even more intense.

Sunday, April 8

Planned Parenthood Bake Sale

Pastry chef Natasha Pickowicz of Café Altro Paradiso is bringing back her grassroots fundraising event for Planned Parenthood. Stop by the café for sweets from restaurants all over NYC, including Atla, Daily Provisions and Gramercy Tavern.

Learn to Make Chinese Dumplings

No experience is necessary as you learn to mold and fill three types of dumplings at this easygoing class.

Knife Skills Class

Learn basics skills (like how to hold a knife, to start), techniques and which blades you'll need for everyday cooking before putting your new skills to use via a light spring meal.

Bloody Mary Festival

Help select the best Bloody Mary in NYC while you enjoy two and a half hours of sipping and noshing, courtesy of some of the city's favorite restaurants.
