Best New Hotels Spring 2018
Although we're just a few months into 2018, there are already plenty of new hotel openings peppered across the United States that have vacationers eagerly planning their next getaways. From newly minted properties to upcoming launches, this year is looking particularly exciting, thanks to a diverse array of noteworthy new hotels vying to capture the hearts (and wallets) of trendsetting travelers around the country.
Rosewood Miramar Beach Montecito
(Santa Barbara, California)
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts is expecting to open the doors to its brand-new, 16-acre West Coast private beach resort later this summer. Nestled along one of the region's most pristine shorelines, the property will offer 122 guest rooms and 48 suites, including private cottages and beachfront bungalows. Guests can look forward to two swimming pools, Sense spa experiences, a signature restaurant and an oceanfront bar.
The Porter
(Portland, Oregon)
The latest addition to the Curio Collection by Hilton will be keeping Portland weird with a dash of polished charm. Welcoming guests next month, the rustic-modern escape towers 16 stories above the bustling Fountain District, steps from the city's most popular restos. Don't miss the on-site Terrane Italian Kitchen + Bar; gourmet pizza from a takeaway window; and Xport, the rooftop restaurant and lounge.
The Siren
(Detroit, Michigan)
As its mythological name suggests, the latest project from ASH NYC (which spearheaded The Dean in Rhode Island) is already seducing travelers to Detroit ahead of its opening. After a complete overhaul of the city's famed Wurlitzer Building, this 106-room hotel draws inspiration from the retro romanticism of yesteryear. While in town, be sure to reserve a space at Albena, the eight-seat tasting counter from James Beard nominee Garrett Lipar.
The Post Oak Hotel
(Houston, Texas)
Sitting pretty in the ultra-luxe neighborhood of Uptown Houston is the region's first luxury mixed-use development of its kind. The 700,000-square-foot high-rise will launch later this month, featuring sweeping vistas of the city, a two-story Rolls-Royce showroom, and 250 luxury rooms and suites. The building will provide exceptional shopping, lavish restaurant options and, naturally, a helipad for the true high rollers.
The Hoxton Williamsburg
(Brooklyn, New York)
It seems right that the British hospitality brand's first American hotel would set up shop on Williamsburg's Instagram-worthy (and hotel-laden) Wythe Avenue. Built upon the former Rosenwach factory, the 175-room hotel will offer three restaurants and a panoramic rooftop bar, and will be decked out with local artisan touches.
Under Canvas Mount Rushmore
(Keystone, South Dakota)
If you're looking for a digital detox, this glamping resort on the outskirts of an original gold-mining settlement is free of Wi-Fi but full of things to do. Guests can pan for gold, go horseback riding through the Black Hills and join a Buffalo Safari Jeep tour. Set up camp in one of the luxurious canvas tents and take in the views of Mount Rushmore in the distance.
Perry Lane Hotel
(Savannah, Georgia)
There's a new Southern belle in, and her name is Perry Lane. Blending old-world charm with an updated elegance and creative flair, this addition to Starwood's Luxury Collection will feature 167 rooms upon its official introduction to Savannah's hotel scene later this spring. Three lively culinary venues will extend the same Southern hospitality that has made the city a national treasure, and the space will host an ever-changing calendar of social events that would make any debutante green with envy.
