A hotel stay is usually an exciting prospect. It's the chance to experience a home away from home—or, more specifically, a home with turndown service and pillow mints. As hotels around the world increase their creative offerings, more not-lame themed suites are popping up as overnight options. After all, you'll have no need for a regular room when you can spend the night in these lavish suites, like one inspired by Princess Grace or a Copenhagen room dedicated to Out of Africa.
Pop Art Suite, Loews Regency New York
This hotel may be on posh Park Avenue, but it still has plenty of character, easily found in the hotel's Signature Suites. Guests can stay in themed rooms that evoke periods like 1970s Milan, Marilyn Monroe's glam heyday or, our personal favorite, Pop Artist icon Andy Warhol's generation. In the Pop Art Suite, details like a custom-designed op art carpet, vibrant jewel-toned accents and a large-scale reproduction of Warhol's Flowers above the bed make the NYC skyline views, well, pop.

Secret Agent Suite, Seven Hotel Paris
The blend of vintage chic and futuristic design is an homage to 007, and staying here will make you feel like nothing short of Bond himself. The Secret Agent Suite is a retro-chic universe filled with leather seating, a golden gun lamp, a wide-screen TV with an archive of Bond movies and a Bond-themed minibar and electronic safe. The curved, cave-like shape of the room makes you feel like you're in a secret lair, ready to take on anyone. Sorry—Aston Martin not included.
Penthouse, Portrait Firenze
Did you know the Ferragamo family (yes, that of fashion designer Salvatore Ferragamo) owns several hotels in Florence? Well, they do, and as you would imagine, they're beautiful. The grandest is Lungarno Collection's Portrait Firenze, and its 1950s Italy-themed penthouse is spectacular. Outfitted with black-and-white photographs showcasing golden-age stars like Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe as they holidayed in Florence, the suite has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, four lounge-dining areas and unparalleled views overlooking the Arno River.

Karen Blixen Out of Africa Suite, Hotel d'Angleterre
Copenhagen's iconic Hotel d'Angleterre, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, has several suites devoted to Danish authors, including one for Hans Christian Andersen, who stayed at the hotel. But our favorite is the Karen Blixen, dedicated to the Out of Africa author. The suite has an African motif with chic details like zebra-inspired chairs, a leopard-print sofa, mounted animal heads and photos of Blixen at her farm in Kenya.
Princess Grace Suite, Hôtel de Paris
The legendary Hôtel de Paris in Monte Carlo just revealed its two-story Princess Grace Suite—the hotel was a favorite of hers. It features personal elements like original art, books from her personal library and floral decorations inspired by her tastes. The two-bedroom suite has outdoor terraces with stunning views of the Palace, an office, multiple dressing rooms, three lounges, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a granite hot tub, two steam rooms and a sauna.
The John and Yoko Suite, Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Montreal
Go back in time to 1969, when John Lennon and Yoko Ono held a bed-in for peace in suite 1742 to protest the ongoing war in Vietnam, culminating in their recording of "Give Peace a Chance." Now, guests can stay in that exact suite and experience a virtual bed-in using VR technology; explore drawers filled with photographs, videos and historical objects; and view art inspired by the event. The bedroom has been recreated to reflect how the couple had it at the time—the bed against the window and the main area cleared for journalists.

Camp Wandawega Suite, Graduate Madison
Missing summer camp? The Camp Wandawega Suite has all the retro charm of summer camp and none of the bugs. Guests enjoy entertainment and office areas, a sleeping area with king-size bed, and a room with bunk beds (of course). Walls clad in shellacked pine are complemented by vintage bark cloth and hunting-print draperies, while camp artifacts like an antique troop master hat and Sanborn canoe paddles add authenticity.
