Prince William and Kate Middleton's Wedding Cake Is for Sale

All of the proceeds will go to charity

If you were one of the billions of people who tuned in to watch Kate Middleton and Prince William get married, you know just how lavish the celebration was. The royal wedding was something out of a storybook, and even though it took place six years ago, there's still an opportunity for you to relive that special day.

The couple are auctioning off a slice of their wedding cake to raise money for charity. The auction will take place at Chiswick Auctions auction house on September 27, and the lucky winner will take home a slice of fruitcake that was part of an eight-tier work of art designed by cake maker Fiona Cairns.

According to Chiswick, the slice of cake will come with a printed card that reads "With best wishes from TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in celebration of the wedding of TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge."

While a slice of six-year-old cake might not sound that appetizing, you'd be purchasing a part of history. But make sure to take your checkbook, obviously, as the bidding price is expected to start at £800 (about $1,000).
