Dog Café In NYC

Doors are expected to open this winter

A new café opening in New York City wants to make it even easier for you to spend as much time with your precious canine as possible.

Boris & Horton is a dog-friendly café headed to the East Village this winter, DNAinfo reports. Instead of having to leave your pup outside while you grab a cup of coffee, this spot welcomes you both in together.

To comply with Department of Health codes, a glass wall will divide the café into two sections: One will serve drinks and food, while the other will be for hanging with your pup.

The best part? You don't even have to own a dog to go inside. However, if you are in the market for a new pet, the café can help with that, too, as it plans to host dog-adoption events in partnership with Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue.

Owners Coppy and Logan Holzman—a father-and-daughter duo—are dog owners themselves and wanted to open a place where they could bring their furry friends without any fuss.

"A lot of people were doing it under the radar and getting fined by the Health Department, but we were like, let's find out a way we can do it where that's our core business and we do it the right way," Logan tells DNAinfo.
