Dominique Ansel's Taking Cronuts And More To London
Three years after Dominique Ansel unleashed his Cronut on New York, he will let the Frankenpastry loose on the streets of London. Dominique Ansel Bakery London, which he announced earlier this year, is on target to open late this summer or early in the fall, Eater reports. Ansel has promised the people of London that there will be Cronuts (phew), as well as as some of his other more viral foods like the milk-filled cookie shot, the DKA (Ansel's take on a kouign-amann) and frozen s'mores.
The bakery, to be located in Belgravia, will also carry some London-only sweets. There's no word at the moment what those will be, but it's fun to imagine what someone like Ansel could do to English classics like banoffee pie or the Victoria sandwich. Ansel's been known to Instagram some of the pastries he's working on, so he might drop some crumbs online in the coming months.

This is the second overseas project for Ansel. Last June, he and his team opened in Tokyo. "With each new place we go, our team draws a huge amount of inspiration," he says in a statement. "London not only gives us access to the ingredients across all of Europe, it will also be a chance for us to learn quite a bit along the way."
