The Best Rooftop Bars In Miami 2014 | Tasting Table MIA

Our favorite rooftop bars in Miami

One of the great things about living in a vacation destination? Having access to all of those hotel pools and their bars. And when the bars are raised to the rooftop, it's just as fun and refreshing drinking in Miami's natural beauty.

Here are some of our favorite watering holes up on high:

① Juvia in Miami Beach

We've already proclaimed our love for one of the best outdoor brunches atop the sexiest parking lot in town. What we might have not mentioned is the close-to-panoramic views of South Beach and the nashi (Japanese pear) sangria ($12)—a refreshing drink for warm summer evenings.

② Touché Lounge and Restaurant in Downtown

Carla Pellegrino's fine-dining Italian restaurant on top of the 24-hour adult club is one of a kind in the area, and the rooftop terrace features a retractable roof that allows patrons to admire the skyline up close and personal until sunrise. (The bar is open until 5 a.m.).

③ Area 31 at the Epic Hotel in Brickell

Want to wow your date? Do so at the sunset happy hour on the 16th floor restaurant of this epic hotel by the Miami River. Order the Sunset cocktail ($13)— Grey Goose with Grand Marnier, bittersweet Campari and passion fruit—to really get in the mood.

④ Above Mayfair at the Mayfair Hotel and Spa in Coconut Grove

The cocktails leave a bit to be desired at the lounge also known as Cabana One, so rent a cabana and order bottle service (hey, it's okay once in a while). Get cozy by the fireplace on winter nights; year-round, the views of Coconut Grove's beautiful marina are unbeatable.

⑤ Spire Bar & Lounge in The Hotel of South Beach

The boutique hotel's Art Deco inspired speakeasy is surprisingly unknown, even to locals. Sip a house mojito ($12) under the pastel glow of the retro hotel signs that line Ocean Drive while enjoying the salty ocean breeze blowing from across the street.

⑥ FIFTY at The Viceroy in Brickell

Even the restrooms at this "exclusive access" club have incredible views. Local bartending legends, such as David Ortiz and Julio Cabrera, have passed through the bar and left their mark on the cocktail menu. Check it out on Thursday evenings, when the spot is open to the public.

⑦ Rooftop at the Townhouse in South Beach

Also known as Eden, this chill garden is reminiscent of the rooftop terraces of the Mediterranean, with white wooden chairs and couches surrounded by flowers and candles. Order a bubbly-topped drink and pretend you're in the Riviera.
