Rock Lobsters

Summer entertaining ideas from Luke Holden of Luke's Lobster

Cole Haan tapped lobster golden boy Luke Holden of Luke's Lobster (two-time Tasting Table Lobster Rumble winner) to offer his favorite summer fashion and entertaining tips.

Your future best party ever will feature delicious grilled lobster (!), a clown, a rockin' playlist, cool kicks from Cole Haan and more. Like what you're hearing so far?

For the menu, the lobster king suggests Grilled Whole Lobsters (see the recipe) accompanied by grilled steak tips and vegetables. Since you're kickin' it hard, wear Cole Haan's Pinch LTE loafers, a.k.a., the shoe of the summer. Serve a simple cocktail, such as Maker's Mark and Schweppes Ginger Ale, and plenty of beer and listen to indie darlings St. Lucia and Panama Wedding.

Holden likes to enlist a pal dressed up as a clown to serve lobster rolls and beer—a downright phenomenal idea. Set up Polish horseshoes and end the evening on a warm note with s'mores over a fire pit—just make sure not to get your Cole Haan loafers too toasty.

Congratulations, you just went claws to the wall.

Of course, lobster is always on the menu. Keep it simple with Holden's recipe for (see the recipe). Just don't forget the drawn butter.

Luke's Lobster only uses claw meat in their rolls—it tends to be a little sweeter with a softer texture. Just make sure not to spill any butter on your Cole Haan Pinch LTE loafers.

Besides serving plenty of beer, Holden suggests making a simple cocktail, such as Maker's Mark and Schweppes Ginger Ale, to get your summer party started.

Since you're kickin' it hard, wear , a.k.a., the shoe of the summer.

As with any outdoor gathering, Holden recommends bringing plenty of sunscreen. "Irish skin burns easily," he jokes. You wouldn't want your skin to match your lobster red Pinch LTEs?

Need help brainstorming added entertainment? Consider playing Polish horseshoes and ending the evening on a sweet note with s'mores over a fire pit.
