Pig Out At Happy Hour

Join Tasting Table for drinks and canapés in Soho

Summer everywhere else: lavish barbecues, roasts over a fire pit, backyards.

Summer in NYC: portable grills of questionable legality, overheated rooftops.

Leave the summer entertaining to Tasting Table. On Friday, June 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., TT's executive chef, Dave Kirschner, will prepare a beast of a happy hour at the Tasting Table Test Kitchen in Soho.

Here's your chance to win four tickets to the event! All you need to do is follow Tasting Table on Twitter and tweet your favorite pork dish with #TTFirstFridays (see the rules here).

This isn't your average weekend kickoff; In lieu of stale pretzels and beer nuts, reach for pork-centric canapés, fried olives paired with Calabrian sausage and Pecorino; piggy terrine with mustard crema, pickled ramps, and sourdough; and crostini topped with charred scallion butter and house-made bacon. Don't forget the braised leg of suckling pig.

The nibbling continues with platters of roast porchetta, heirloom tomato salad with pickled peaches, and whipped lardo with summer truffles. There will be plenty of Belgian beer and crisp cider to wash it all down.

Get ready to pig out.
