Lobster Roll Rumble's West Coast Debut
After four years and thousands of lobster rolls served, Tasting Table is ready to take its marquee culinary event, the NYC Lobster Roll Rumble, on the road.
And what better place than sunny Los Angeles, a city that's experiencing a seafood renaissance of its own.
Tickets are on sale now ($75 plus tax; click here to buy) for the West Coast Lobster Roll Rumble on November 7, 2013, at the Cooper Design Space in Downtown Los Angeles, benefiting Share Our Strength.
You can vote for your favorite roll from ten of the best seafood slingers along the Pacific coastline, who will try to claw their way to the top: L&E Oyster Bar (L.A.), The Hungry Cat (L.A.), Blue Plate Oysterette (L.A.), Littlefork (L.A.), The Strand House (L.A.), Cousins Maine Lobster (L.A.), Anchor & Hope (S.F.), Sam's Chowder House (Half Moon Bay) and Old Port Lobster Shack (Redwood City)–plus a specialty roll from Chobani.

Between sampling sandwiches, you'll also enjoy savory treats from Chobani and Murray's Cheese, as well as open bars pouring Stella Artois beer, custom Patrón cocktails and wine. Save room for dessert, too: The Churro Borough of Los Angeles, Short Cake and Kettle Glazed Doughnuts will balance out all that buttery, mayo-y goodness...with even more buttery goodness.
Two-time East Coast People's Choice winner The Clam Shack is throwing down the gauntlet to its West Coast brethren: "My first thought is that I want to go the West Coast and compete to show these people what a real one tastes like," says owner Steve Kingston. He calls their winning roll "basic, unsullied, pure...it tastes like summer in Maine." (See Kingston's tips for making the perfect lobster roll here.)
Like most things imported from the East Coast, these tickets will sell out fast. So buy yours now.
And start pronouncing it "lob-stah."
