Gourmet Table - Find Your Perfect Holiday Gift - Miami

Edible gifts for your next holiday party

We always keep a few gifts on hand for last-minute holiday party invitations.

This year, we're stocking up at Gourmet Table, an elegant new Coral Gables restaurant and food emporium. We've sampled the array of foods and suggest these sophisticated gifts for the host or hostess:

Riz au Lait: The velvety chocolate-and-salted-caramel rice pudding studded with al dente short-grain rice warrants its eye-catching vintage packaging ($13.50). A host can prepare the simple dessert and still be able to socialize with guests. Plus, the riz au lait fills the house with a bewitching chocolate aroma. A bottle makes six to eight ramekins of rice pudding.

Tea from Le Palais des Thés: Aromatic test canisters allow you to select precisely the right tea from the French company. Our favorite, Thé Des Songes, is an enchanting oolong with peach notes. It is available in muslin tea bags ($11.50 per box) and as loose tea ($21 for 4 ounces).

Château d'Estoublon Olive Oil: At first glance, this fancy bottle appears to be perfume, but it is cold-pressed French olive oil, made from Picholine olives ($37). The kitchen fashionista will appreciate the stylized Art Deco bottle; the robust olive oil is just as arresting on the palate.
