Relief Efforts For The Hurricane Sandy Aftermath
Relief efforts for the Hurricane Sandy aftermath
Hurricane Sandy crippled many parts of the Caribbean and the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.
So, rather than sending recommendations and recipes today, we are spreading the word about ways to help the people and areas affected:
Caribbean:
Partners in Health
International Medical Corps
Catholic Relief Services
Direct Relief International
Doctors Without Borders
The Northeast:
Blood donations
Occupy Sandy in New Jersey
Occupy Sandy in New York
Tunnel to Towers (relief for Staten Island and New Jersey)
Bideawee (pet assistance)
City Harvest
Food Bank for New York City
The Mid-Atlantic:
Food Bank of Delaware
Philabundance (relief in Philadelphia)
D.C. Central Kitchen
Food & Friends
In addition, Tasting Table is hosting a fund-raiser in our Soho Test Kitchen on Wednesday, November 14, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Purchase a ticket here ($100), then join our team for a casual cocktail party benefiting the Food Bank for New York City. One hundred percent of ticket sales will be donated, and Tasting Table will match the total donation. Attendees are also invited to bring canned food and winter jackets, which will be donated.
Do your part, if you're able. Tomorrow, we'll return to more delicious food and drink recommendations.
