Wine Tasting Event With Marco Pasanella

Marco Pasanella, proprietor of the South Street Seaport wine shop Pasanella & Son Vintners, encourages you to do precisely that in his new book, Uncorked: My Journey Through the Crazy World of Wine ($24), which goes on sale today.

In the book, Pasanella lays out the rough-and-tumble (and sometimes comical) birth and evolution of his shop. We particularly love the handy appendix, a gold mine of such sections as "Ten Ways to Taste Without Feeling Like a Snob."

On Monday, June 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tasting Table readers are invited to join us in our Test Kitchen & Dining Room in Soho as we host an intimate wine tasting, book signing and conversation with Pasanella ($50, includes a copy of Uncorked; click here to purchase a ticket).

Attendees will sip on four handpicked wines paired with unexpected small bites (think warm fatty salmon rillettes with chilled Chinon). After mixing and mingling, Pasanella will read an excerpt from and sign copies of his book.
