Bay Area Bicycle Cafes | San Francisco, CA

Where hungry riders can get a food fix(ie)

Bicycles are now the must-have accessory for Bay Area food lovers, bringing diners to dinner (and coffee), and dinner to diners.

TCB Courier's bicycle delivery service can now bring you everything from Little Star pizza to Sour Flour bread, and these three cafés encourage customers to pedal to them:

Mojo Bicycle Café

This bicycle shop and café hosts Vietnamese pop-up Rice Paper Scissors for Banh Mi Thursdays. From 6:30 to 10 p.m. it sells its killer signature sandwiches ($8) in the café and will deliver them for free by bike. This winter, Rice Paper Scissors will add pho and rice porridge. 639A Divisadero St. (at Grove St.); 415-440-2370 or mojobicyclecafe.com and ricepaperscissors.com

Rapha Cycle Club

Rapha Cycle Club's four-month-old Marina location is the company's first outside the U.K. Customers can enjoy Starter Bakery pastries and Four Barrel coffee while perusing Rapha's library of cycling magazines and racks of bicycle wear. 2198 Filbert St. (at Fillmore St.); 415-896-4671 or rapha.cc/san-francisco

Actual Café

This Oakland café encourages bicycle ownership with its indoor bicycle parking, bike maps and discounts for East Bay Bicycle Coalition members. It also employs a fleet of cargo bikes for its own transport needs. 6334 San Pablo Ave. (at Alcatraz Ave.), Oakland; 510-653-8386 or actualcafe.com
