Chipotle Is Debuting New Merch In High-Value Holiday Mystery Boxes
If you've got a burrito lover on your holiday shopping list, then Chipotle has good news for you! The fast food chain famous for huge build-your-own burritos announced in a press release on November 29 that they will be debuting new mystery merch boxes this holiday season. According to the announcement, two sizes of gift boxes will go on sale on the "Goods" page of the company's website at 9 a.m. Pacific Time (noon Eastern) on Thursday, December 1.
The boxes are reported to contain double their value in new and fan-favorite branded and burrito-themed merchandise with the $30 Small Burrito Box said to contain three to five items valued at $60, and the $50 Large Burrito Box containing four to eight items worth a combined $100. All the items inside the boxes are packaged in the company's iconic foil burrito wraps and are labeled with one of the chain's online order stickers.
While you can pick the size of the box, Chipotle emphasizes that there is no sizing information required when you order your gift for your favorite Chipotle fan as the boxes do not contain any fitted clothing items, but what they do contain is a complete mystery.
More than merch
Although it is not clear what the main gifts inside the boxes will be, shoppers who purchase their mystery boxes early will get the chance to get some bonus gifts, including some high-value gift cards! According to Chipotle, ten random boxes ordered in the first 48 hours of the sale (between 9 a.m. PT on December 1 and 8:59 a.m. on December 3) will include a $500 stainless steel Chipotle gift card, while other boxes purchased in the first two days will receive smaller prizes including smaller gift cards and bars of Chipotle's limited edition Cilantro Soap.
Last year as a holiday promotion, the burrito chain released bars of cilantro-scented soap on its website, based on the common internet debate about the herb tasting like soap to certain eaters. According to CNN Business, the $8 soap bars sold out within the first day of sales in 2021.
Like all of Chipotle's merch, the proceeds from the mystery boxes will benefit organizations working to make farming and apparel manufacturing more environmentally sustainable.
