Kristen has been a journalist for nine years, first entering the field through Spoon University. After working at local newspapers in Charleston, SC, and Charlotte, NC, they moved to New York City to work at Eater. With expertise in audience engagement, they also enjoy writing about food and drink culture.

Kristen graduated from the Honors College at College of Charleston with a bachelor's in communication.
