45 Best Crumbl Cookies Ranked
Crumbl Cookies exploded onto the scene in 2017 and made a huge splash in the food world with its enormous, creative, beautiful, and downright delicious fresh-baked cookies. Opening up new franchise locations seemingly every day, in some areas there may even be as many Crumbl store locations as there are Chipotle or Dunkin' spots. Crumbl's skyrocketing popularity is, in large part, thanks to social media, where avid fans post reviews, pics, and songs of praise on Instagram, X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, and, of course, TikTok. With nearly 200 flavors and counting, Crumbl is expanding in every conceivable way.
Here's the Crumbl rumble: The menu changes weekly to feature six different flavors of cookies, some returning favorites and some brand new. Crumbl is closed on Sundays, but you can check the website on Sunday evening to see what to expect to start the week. This list will not rank the classic Milk Chocolate Chip or Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk cookies, since they almost always alternate each week; if you've ever tried either of those, you know they're constants for a reason.
Every cookie is reliably stellar, served either warm or chilled, and always looks gorgeous — whether it's a simple, homey Iced Oatmeal or a fancy-schmancy, on-trend Lucky Charms-inspired creation. If you're overwhelmed by the ever-increasing possibilities, here's a lengthy, thorough deep dive into a whopping 45 flavors of cookies that have made an appearance on the Crumbl menu. Now you can come prepared every Monday morning when you drive over to your local storefront and pick up your now-famous pink box. Crumbl has a whopping 52 flavors a year! Out of the many cookies, we have selected 45 that really stood out to us. Can you even imagine how good the top 5 have to be? It's pretty exciting.
45. Original Featuring M&Ms
Crumbl doesn't just like to riff off desserts, but candy, too. Around Halloween, the store will often have a whole candy-inspired lineup featuring Kit Kat, Reese's, and even Sour Patch Kids cookies. And at the most simple level, Crumbl has paid homage to the humble M&M with this cookie.
This is one of the most basic cookies in Crumbl's whole rotation. It's buttery, chewy, and everything an M&M cookie should be. That being said, we typically go to Crumbl for the Kit Kat cookies, the Reese's cookies, and even the bizarre Sour Patch Kids flavor in the cookie world. We don't typically go for something so common that we could find the equivalent at any grocery store or even a McDonald's or Subway. If you like frosting-free cookies or a great version of a childhood favorite, go for this one. But we generally prefer adventuring for the more unique offerings that make Crumbl so fun.
44. Cinnamon Fry Bread
Frybread is usually made out of a rustic, unsweetened dough (when staying true to its origins) of flour, salt, baking powder, and hot water, and it's prepared similarly to a funnel cake. It's stretched into a disk then placed in a hot skillet — preferably cast iron — with sizzling oil — preferably corn — and flipped like a pancake as it grows pillowy, billowy, and puffy. This humble staple originated nearly 200 years ago, per Smithsonian Magazine, when the U.S. government dished out some basic supplies to the Native American Navajos as the tribes were pushed further and further away from their homelands. It has now become a powerful generational symbol for the Navajos and is a treasured cultural icon.
Crumbl pays homage to the bread but makes it into a delectable dessert instead. All glammed up with plenty of sweetness (but not too much), this dense, chewy, cookie base is brushed with a glaze of melted butter and topped with cinnamon-honey buttercream. It tastes a bit like a trip to the county fair: chewy, warm, savory fried doughs by the light of carousels and to the sounds of carnival tunes.
The Cinnamon Fry Bread cookie is an utterly unique creation and a clever nod to the source material at the same time. Definitely not homemade bread, it nonetheless retains an elusive, wholesome, complex fried flavor that veers into donut territory most sweetly. That cinnamon-honey buttercream bomb on top is the perfect amount of decadence — not too much to smother the underlying flavor profile but just enough to make an icing impact.
43. Gingersnap
We think gingersnaps are a year-round cookie. Some might argue that they have business making an appearance only around the holidays, but we beg to differ. Ginger is such a universal, gloriously sweet-spicy flavor that brightens so many dishes, and it is especially good in cookies. Give us our gingersnaps any given Tuesday, and we'll be happy.
Crumbl's Gingersnap is simple and single-minded: offer the best, most pure ginger flavor possible. The cookie's texture is soft and slightly chewy, thick like most Crumbl cookies tend to be, and rolled in sparkling cane sugar. As for the star of the show, the ginger taste, Crumbl does a great job. We love a really spiced cookie, and this is it. It's also not too sweet, especially in contrast to the many other Crumbl creations piled with frosting and add-ons. This one's for the purists. And if you want to have some around for the holidays, just buy a 6- or 12-pack, freeze them, and then defrost them at the perfect time of year.
42. German Chocolate Cake
German Chocolate Cake has a lot going for it, whether it's in cake or cookie form. The cake is a triumphant, decadent layered combination of harmonious flavors. It's rich and gooey thanks to chocolate and thick caramel, a little bit savory and warm from those lovely toasted pecans, and somehow also rather light and airy thanks to the ethereal texture of coconut flakes. Now onto the cookie version, Crumbl's exciting invention, which is a triumph to be sure.
It's a cakey chocolate cookie topped with a sweet caramelly coconut-pecan frosting and finished with a melty milk chocolate drizzle. For a lighter take on chocolate, try Dirt Cake with its pudding topping; for a darker one, try the aptly named Dark Dream; for a gooey one, try Brownie Batter; for another cake-minded one, see Chocolate Cake (coming up later on the list). But for the chocolate-coconut-caramel dream team, Crumbl's German Chocolate Cake is everything good in the world. The textural juxtaposition of every ingredient is enough to charm you at first bite.
41. Confetti Cake
Crumbl has a secret weapon up its sleeves with this one right here: a cake batter cookie topped with cake batter cream cheese frosting and sprinkles. It regularly brings this cookie back into its lineup, but this is a cookie that very typically gets used as a sort of celebration banner announcing whatever holiday is happening that week (other cookies used are the Sugar ft. Mother's® Original Circus Animal™ Cookie as well as a gussied-up and alternately colored version of Pink Sugar).
On Valentine's Day, the cookie got showered with heart-shaped sprinkles. For Christmas week, the sprinkles turned into merry, festive red and green nonpareils. On Independence Day, they were, you guessed it, red, white, and blue sprinkles, all on top of a blank white frosting canvas. If you like cake batter-flavored treats, you'll get more than your fair share in this cookie, and thankfully, you'll get it more often than you'd get other more niche Crumbl flavors that have longer wait times between reappearances.
40. Blueberry Crumb Cake
Crumb cake is one of life's underrated joys. Cake for breakfast? Come on, now, nothing beats that. Cake is practically designed to be eaten with a cup of coffee, anyway, right? And when it has fruit in it? Just go for it. More cake for breakfast!
Crumbl has recreated the magic of a good crumb cake in its Blueberry Crumb Cake cookie. This cookie includes a cakey, butter cookie base with bits of blueberries, plus a simple lemony glaze, real blueberries on top, and finally, a smattering of cookie crumbs. Or crumb cake crumbs. It's all one and the same here. Anyway, the cookie part is delightful, fresh-tasting, and fruity with lots of cakey flavor. The lemon icing, then, might make or break it for some people; it's very strong with lots of bright lemon flavor. If you love lemon and blueberry together, this flavor will be great for you. If you're wary of citrus tasting like a lemon disinfectant wipe, well, this will be less great for you. Proceed accordingly.
39. Vanilla Cupcake
Crumbl's re-inspired cake flavors are some of its very best. The company truly hits the nail on the head every single time, as seen later on in this list with the Chocolate Cake cookie. This sister flavor isn't far behind, though, and some people might even think the two should be reversed. For those of you who pick vanilla ice cream over chocolate or the lighter half of that massive store-bought, duo-toned, grocery-store birthday sheet cake (you've had those served up at some event, probably), this one is for you.
Sweetly simple but in no way plain or dull, this Vanilla Cupcake cookie is in no way, shape, or form "vanilla." The purity of flavor shines through in the lightly aromatic base and fluffy cloud of frosty vanilla cream cheese frosting for a little extra tanginess piped into a pretty rosette swirl atop. This would pair delightfully with vanilla-bean-flecked ice cream, fresh-picked strawberries, or, to mix things up a little, a glass of ice-cold chocolate milk. It's the best anytime and anywhere vanilla-frosted cookie you've had in a long, long time, and it's No. 39 on our list of the best Crumbl cookies.
38. S'mores
Crumbl has a few flavors that it likes to get creative with, such as peanut butter and lemon (but not together -– yet). One of those flavors is the combination of chocolate, marshmallow, and graham crackers, aka s'mores. There's a basic S'mores as well as a S'mores Brownie cookie that's also great and pretty ridiculously rich. Both appear on the weekly lineup every so often. The basic S'mores cookie is easy to like. There's nothing too special, but it's also pretty universally enjoyable.
The basic version uses the chain's classic milk chocolate chip cookie that's rolled in graham cracker crumbs before baking and then decorated with some toasted marshmallows plus a chocolate drizzle. You can't go wrong. It would be a great warm-weather cookie to buy in large quantities for a gathering and eat outside after a long summer day. It could be better if there were more s'mores elements baked into the actual cookie, but it's fine as it.
37. Buttermilk Pancake
There's a great debate going down, haven't you heard? Cast your vote for the best breakfast food of all time: waffles, pancakes, or French toast. Crumbl has entered the chat because it's taken all of those meals and converted them into cookies. The French Toast and Waffle varieties appear higher up in our ranking, and you shall encounter them shortly, but Buttermilk Pancake is nonetheless a fantastic flapjack-inspired treat.
Breakfast for dinner has been done, and breakfast for dessert is quickly following suit in the food world. Just take a look at Crumbl's Cereal Week, which proved a delightful week indeed. Breakfast-inspired foods are all the rage. But with that said, all trends accounted for and all trends aside, this cookie can stand on its own feet. It's a vaguely maple-scented and boldly buttery one with a tangy and tasty buttermilk glaze brushed all over. A spot of buttercream seals the deal. It's not too sweet, but man does it blow your typical breakfast out of the water. Don't flip out, but this is going to be your new jam.
36. Key Lime Pie
Some of us here love a good Key lime pie with its fresh, bracing sunny flavor wrapped up in a graham cracker pie crust and topped with cool, whipped cream. Others, not so much. It's a somewhat polarizing pie, and like so many popular desserts –- brownie sundaes, lemon meringue pie, carrot cake -– Crumbl has taken a stab at recreating this one in cookie form.
This Key Lime Pie cookie is essentially a mini pie. There's the graham base, which creates a sweet little cup that holds the creamy lime filling. It's neither too sweet nor too tart, meaning that it's the perfect pie. And the cute little dollop of whipped cream paired with the mini lime wedge? Gorgeous! So if you don't like Key lime pie, I suggest you not buy this cookie. But if you do like this flavor that evokes visions of sunny beaches and the Florida Keys, please go and buy this cookie. It's as simple as that.
35. Texas Sheet Cake
This is another one of Crumbl's takes on a classic, and this time regional, dessert. This Texas Sheet Cake cookie is a win. The cake, also known from its origins as a Texas Funeral Cake, is a thin chocolate cake like a brownie. Its moist but almost airy texture is created by pouring thick, fudgy frosting over the still-warm cake until it all comes together into something that sticks to your fork.
Crumbl's cookie stays pretty true to the source material. The chocolate cookie is lightly cocoa-flavored and moist, just like the cake should be. The frosting is buttery smooth and coats the cookie well. You would look at a cookie like this and think, "That looks like a lot of chocolate." But it's actually extremely balanced and not at all heavy-handed. It also comes with pecans on top. And remember, if you're not a fan of any Crumbl topping, you can always ask to have it left off!
34. Reese's PB Cup
Crumbl is the undisputed cookie monster of peanut-butter cookies. It's almost as common to find a childhood-lunch-flavored offering in Crumbl's weekly lineup as it is to find a chocolate- or vanilla-based treat, and for good reason. Crumbl's iterations of the classic cookies are never the sad, dry, crumbly (get it?) ones you pick up at the grocery store just to have around in the pantry. These are moist, dense, satisfying cookies bursting with peanut buttery flavor and featuring a wide array of possible mix-ins, frostings, and toppings.
Of all the nutty directions it can go, choosing to bow down to the king of all things peanut butter, Reese's, was the right one. When you add chunks of peanut butter cups to a cookie that tastes like the filling of a peanut butter cup already, then pool warm peanut butter topping on the surface, and finally use the whole thing as a sticky landing pad for a shower of Reese's candy chunks ... it's almost an overload. Peanut butter lovers unite!
33. Cornbread
Ah, Crumbl, you've done it again, throwing everyone off and reeling them right on in. Good cornbread is an elusive unicorn — more often dry as a bone — but you know it when you try it, right? The hard part is that taste, as a general rule, is subjective. Everyone likes their cornbread made to order with mix-ins to elevate the taste. While some swear by honey providing all the sweetness instead of white sugar, others disavow sugar entirely and like the earthiness of a more austere version. Some like cornbread fine-textured almost like a yellow cake, while others go for the sandy-textured way that really lets the corn shine. Some like the bread a pale buttery yellow, others a burnished golden-brown.
And yes, about the butter. How much butter is too much butter? Answer: The limit does not exist. But no matter how you like your cornbread, as long as you do in fact like cornbread and as long as you do in fact like cookies (a safe assumption if you're reading this article), you'll love this hybrid vehicle.
All the best features of the classic Thanksgiving side dish are there in Crumbl's cookie but brought to new heights; plus, the cookie gets glazed with a genteel brush of honey-butter topping and given an extra dollop of honey butter buttercream on top. Served warm and fresh from the oven, the cookie gets frosting and glaze added that melt halfway into the cookie. This results in layers and layers of sweet, corny goodness that will blow your mind.
32. Waffle
Mmm, waffles. There is nothing, nothing like a stay at a nice hotel that offers an all-you-can-eat self-serve continental breakfast, is there? You scan the scrambled eggs, the sausage patties, the plastic case hiding various muffins and breads, the cereal dispensers, and think you've got everything you could ever need. Then, then, you spot the giant Belgian waffle iron, and suddenly, wait! Forget it, all other breakfast options pale in comparison. About two minutes later, plus some extra time for gathering all the butter, syrup, and some fruit to throw on top, you dive into crisp, fluffy, golden-brown goodness.
Now you can have all that in one convenient, perfectly balanced Waffle cookie confection brought to you courtesy of Crumbl. How considerate of those bakers! The Waffle cookie is a fan favorite for obvious reasons. It's a thick waffle-flavored and waffle-looking cookie drizzled with nostalgic breakfast syrup and topped with a spot of sweet buttercream frosting. Remember Buttermilk Pancake and the shoutout it gave to its Waffle cousin flavor? Breakfast just keeps getting sweeter.
31. Red Velvet Cupcake
We already mentioned the fact that Crumbl loves to provide its own spins on popular desserts. Add red velvet cake to the list. The cake, not the cookie, is such a treat. If you're wondering what the real flavor of red velvet is, wonder no more. The cake's fluffy, uniquely flavored layers tasting of both vanilla and cocoa, that fun brick red color, plus the balanced cream cheese frosting? It's everything to us. And thankfully, it's everything to Crumbl.
Red Velvet Cupcake (the Crumbl cookie) is almost as good as the real thing. It incorporates a fluffy, cakey –- intentionally obvious -– red velvet cookie that's soft and sweet. It has hints of cocoa, just like its inspiration. Then, of course, there is that cream cheese frosting. We love cream cheese frosting because it uses, well, cream cheese along with butter before whipping in the powdered sugar, creating a less-sweet and slightly tart frosting. It's just what red velvet needs. As the cherry on top, Crumbl sprinkles red velvet cake crumbs over that frosting. Overall, this is just a nice, crowd-pleasing cookie.
30. Peanut Butter Brittle
If you ever think Crumbl will run out of ideas about how to change up the use of peanuts in its cookie lineups, think again. How clever of it to reach back into Grandma's kitchen recipe box and find the secrets to this almost-forgotten candy treat? Peanut Butter Brittle is back, baby, and it's back in style and definitely ready to become a household name again. Crumbl knows when things might be too much, so instead of a peanut butter-base cookie, it takes its original base cookie and fills it up instead with crunchy peanuts to make more of a peanut cookie than a peanut butter cookie.
When you eat it, it's warm from the oven, and those warm bursts of sweet-salty roasted nuts are a welcome change of pace. Then it's topped with a creamy peanut butter mousse (not intensely sweet buttercream, because again, Crumbl knows how to balance its elements) and finally scatters crisp, sweet peanut brittle candy all over. Grandma would raise an eyebrow but eat it gladly.
29. Teddy Graham
Now, how cute is this concept? Did you happen to grow up with a busy mom who tossed you single-serve packets of Teddy Grahams when chauffeuring you from band practice to dance practice? The poor woman probably contended with your complaints of "I'm hungry" and had to do something about it. Teddy Grahams, with their undeniable delightful little shapes, was the perfect solution. This one will be a fun throwback for so many people. The crunchy, honey-infused sweetness of graham crackers lends the cookie base a nostalgic flavor and complex heartiness that's surprisingly satisfying. Think also of the crust of a really good homemade cheesecake, all butter and graham, but now as a perfect Crumbl-y cookie.
Speaking of cheesecake, the frosting is nearly cheesecake filling. Cool and sweet but with a nice tang from the cream cheese element, it's the ideal accompaniment. Last but not least are the adornments: a delicate drizzle of honey over the frosting and a couple of those adorable tiny bears perched atop the whole shebang bring home the homey-ness. It's guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of the children and the adults who still eat graham crackers dunked in a glass of milk for their afternoon snack.
28. Cookie Butter Ice Cream
At this point, if you were a dessert lover or even just a lover of new food creations, you have probably at least heard of cookie butter. And hopefully, you have tasted it. Those little crumbly warmly spiced lotus cookies that you get on airplanes? Just imagine grinding those cookies up until you get a spread, like turning peanuts into peanut butter. We are big fans, and it turns out that Crumbl is too, because the brand has experimented with incorporating it into cookies. The cookie has a pleasant brown sugar base with hints of those cinnamony spices we know and love.
The frosting is inspired by ice cream and has a milkshake-like quality to it. The flavor is also minimal, and we kind of wish that Crumbl had gone bolder on the Biscoff flavor — but it's a nice lightly spiced treat. If you really like cookie butter, why not have the best possible version by making it yourself? We have an amazing recipe for homemade speculoos cookie butter that you can slide on anything your heart desires, from cookies to waffles, to two slices of bread and call it a sandwich.
27. Funfetti Milkshake
How can someone not fall in love with Funfetti? Sprinkles just bring so much joy, and yes, they also bring so much sweetness. When you take an existing material and add a dash of joy and sweetness, it will only get better. This is basically a metaphor for life, right? But it's also a tangible, edible, delectable cookie that certainly won't last for your whole life. After one little lick of frosting, you'll be lucky if it lasts for your whole day.
Add one wholesome source of happiness — that is, sprinkles — to another rock-around-the-clock vintage source of happiness — that is, milkshakes — and you've got potentially the most irresistible cookie ever concocted. If you have children, expect tantrums if you leave Crumbl without bringing home one of these Funfetti Milkshake treats for them to devour. All in all, it's a chilled sprinkle-filled and rainbow-flavored sugar cookie rolled in playful multicolored sprinkles and topped with a birthday cake-flavored buttercream as well as a cute little dollop of whipped cream. It's everything a childlike heart desires, and it's just sweet as can be.
26. Brownie Batter
Brownie batter presents an interesting choice that may or may not say a lot about you as an individual. Consider whether you eat the batter before it's cooked (Are you a risk-taker?) or you wait until it's safely baked into brownies (Are you a rule-follower?). Technically, you're not supposed to eat uncooked brownie batter due to the raw flour and eggs that may harbor dangerous bacteria. But the temptation is always there. Crumbl's brownie batter cookie makes it perfectly safe to eat the gooey, melty, luxurious mixture that's so often off limits. Don't hold back!
This cookie incorporates the fully baked brownie, which constitutes the core of the cookie and is rich, chewy, and chocolatey. Then it gets some chocolate chips just to go the extra mile and up the chocolate ante. This flavor also ribbons some brownie batter-inspired goodness throughout the baked cookie, which makes the whole thing extremely soft and moist. And, of course, this Crumbl cookie is served warm for the full, fresh-baked brownie experience.
25. Dulce De Leche
Pronounce it correctly with this handy dandy guidance: Dool-she deh leh-cheh. It looks somewhat hilarious, all spelled out phonetically, doesn't it? But it doesn't sound hilarious when you say it right. No, it sounds like music, and your taste buds will sing a song of joy when encountering the Dulce de Leche Crumbl cookie. It's a fantastic balance of flavors and textures, sweet but just a little bit spicy.
Were this cookie a person, he or she would have a sassy, feisty personality but with a barely concealed heart of gold. On to the details: It's an expertly spiced cinnamon cookie covered in an aesthetically pleasing pool of warm, melty, rich dulce de leche and a nice plop of dulce de leche-scented cream cheese frosting. If you're a caramel lover, you gotta try dulce de leche; it's better. And if you're a cinnamon cookie lover, you've got to try this one, too.
24. Carrot Cake
We have so many favorite sweet and savory carrot recipes, but there's something wholly comforting, satisfying, and surprising about a well-baked carrot cake. Complex in its taste, this cookie has notes of warming spices like cinnamon and nutmeg as well as hints of brown sugary goodness. The fresh carrots themselves add a brightness beyond just the fun orange color, a great snap of earthy flavor, a moisture boost that so many baked goods lack, and a textural contrast for the rest of the cake.
With all this going into a cake, or in this case, cookie-inspired-by-a-cake, a lot can go wrong. One common misstep is a lack of sweetness. You know, that weird feeling that you're consuming something that's undergoing a minor identity crisis. Is this a bread-y side dish or a standout, standalone dessert? Well, remove all traces of doubt by adding a thick, velvety cream cheese frosting like Crumbl so wisely does so you have a cake for all seasons and palates. Skip all the work and potential pitfalls of baking one yourself by buying this Carrot Cake cookie. One and done, and probably done better than you could, no offense.
23. Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin Pie in a Crumbl cookie? Believe it or not, Crumbl has created mini cookie pies in many flavors beyond pumpkin: Apple, Pecan, Key Lime, and even Banana Cream. But this one is a sweet little work of art. The pie crust isn't actually much like a pie crust, but a shortbread cookie cup. But there are no complaints here about that since no one is heading to Crumbl to buy an actual pumpkin pie. It's a cookie chain. With the not-pie-crust "crust," you get a whole new way to enjoy pumpkin pie, and that's the sort of experience that makes Crumbl so fun.
On to the filling. The pumpkin is somewhere between a custard and a mousse, thick but still rather light. It's also light on the spice, so do with that what you will. That tiny whipped cream rosette on top is the icing on the cake — cookies, pie, cakes, all are welcome here.
22. Mango Frozen Yogurt
This Mango Frozen Yogurt cookie, which comes in at No. 22, arrived and immediately threw people off. First of all, it's a chilled mango cookie with a mango yogurt and vanilla swirled frosting and topped with a dried mango. Rarely does Crumbl work with a fruit that's less readily available and slightly more unusual.
Strawberries, blueberries, apples — those fruits are safe bets and don't really make anyone bat an eye (even though no one's saying they're not delicious; try the seasonal Caramel Apple, that gorgeous Blueberry Cheesecake, the warming Blueberry Muffin, or the winsome Strawberry Shortcake). But mango, and mango incorporated into every element of the finished cookie like this, is a bold move.
And tangy frozen yogurt is much less in use than its ice cream cousin, but it paired nicely with the fruity freshness of mango. Bold, yes, but it worked. Well, mostly worked, anyhow, because due to supply issues, it was only available for a few days rather than the whole week. So sad. It just means it will be that much more rewarding when it returns to the menu.
21. Cinnamon Swirl
Look over here! It's everything delectable about a cinnamon bun swirled into a cookie. Much will be debated, debunked, and dished out about breakfast foods turned into cookies later on and over the course of this exhaustive list. But at least when it comes to things like pancakes, French toast, waffles, and cereal, they're all pretty universally defined as breakfast. Now with cinnamon buns it gets a little dicey (or maybe spicy? Cinnamon-spicy? Anyway, moving on.)
A cinnamon bun especially with its cream cheese icing melting into the warm oven-baked yeast roll toes the line between breakfast and dessert. Some may argue that it's entirely dessert, and they would have a very good point. Crumbl's inspired interpretation, Cinnamon Swirl, is all dessert: a warm vanilla sugar cookie topped with cinnamon sugar and cream cheese frosting. But if eating it for breakfast is wrong, well, no one wants to be right. Right?
20. Churro
Says one Instagram follower enthusiastically, "OMG I had this last week IT WAS BOM!!!! Best cookie ever!!!" Cries another into the abyss, "I need more churro cookies!!" Reports yet another Crumbl consumer, "Incredible on so many levels." How can you argue with praise like that? Taking a simple cinnamon cookie up a notch, Churro adds a little update inspired by the trendy fried treat so commonly found at state fairs and amusement parks like Disneyland, which has some amazing recipes of its own.
According to BBC Travel, the origins of the actual churro are complex, with several countries claiming its invention as their own. This debate, fortunately, does not exist when it comes to Crumbl's cookie take on it: The Churro cookie is 100% Crumbl.
Breathe in the enticing aroma of this warm, crisp cookie rolled in cinnamon sugar and swiped with a plentiful swirl of cinnamon buttercream frosting. Churros wish they had frosting, don't they? Churros probably wish they were cookies every so often. Hey, the grass is always greener, and you'll be green with envy if you see anyone else eating this cookie without you.
19. Blueberry Cheesecake
A luscious three-layer cookie with a warm graham cracker cookie base, a creamy layer of cheesecake frosting, and topped off with blueberry filling awaits in this flavor sensation: Blueberry Cheesecake. This one seems quite elegant and sophisticated, taking a left turn away from the Funfetti, Cookie Dough, and Teddy Graham-type creations that are more playful and for the child at heart. This one cries adult and is not for the faint of heart or dull of sweet tooth, but don't be surprised if the kids in your life devour it when your back is turned.
An Instagram reviewer exclaims, "This blueberry cheesecake cookie was the best cookie I've ever had in my life! I can't wait for it to come back lol." You'll get the last laugh whenever it does come back to Crumbl's menu, and here's a tip: Get a lot of them and freeze them for later so they're available whenever a cheesecake craving strikes, and you're really not feeling like turning on your oven.
18. Biscoff Lava
Oh no, oh no, this cookie is so dangerous it's literally explosive. Biscoff Lava is a killer flavor for sure, so stand back. Just kidding, run right on over and take a bite, letting that wave of warm, melty cookie-butter escape its cookie cocoon and leave you sticky as can be.
But wait, do you know what Biscoff even is? If not, run — don't walk — to your nearest grocery store and pick up a package of those speculoos cookies (you know, the ones you get in the little packs on airplanes) that have been pulsed into a Nutella-like spread (speaking of which, be sure to check out Crumbl's Nutella Mudslide cookie when you get the chance.)
Biscoff Lava is a nicely warm Biscoff-stuffed cookie topped with a Biscoff drizzle and Biscoff cookie crumbs. Don't let any of that gooey messy filling fall on the ground because you want every single bite. The floor is lava. The cookie is lava. It's so much fun, both the game and the cookie.
17. People's Choice
The People's Choice cookie: This is Crumbl making the absolute most of its incredible social media following. There's nothing like getting customers involved to win national attention and account interaction, and this is such a fun way to do it. Crumbl proposes potential flavors for the cookie, frosting, and topping and presents them in brackets. Customers cast their votes through simple taps on their phone screens and watch the bracket options go from eight to four to two. The winner from each category come together to create a "People's Choice" cookie that the Crumbl culinary team develops into reality.
Last time, the votes came and created a sandwich-style cookie with a filling of whipped marshmallow fluff mixed with Oreos, sandwiched between two chocolate cookies rolled in Oreos, and topped with brownie chunks and Oreo pieces. Whew! Keep an eye out for the next time Crumbl rolls out the brackets for cookie flavors.
16. Aggie Blue Mint
Backstory time: Crumbl had a humble beginning (it's nice how that rhymes.) Crumbl began in a town called Logan in Utah, right up against Utah State University. In fact, one of the two founders, who are cousins, was attending said university on opening day. Talk about an overachiever. At first, there was no weekly lineup of crazy flavors, just the pure Milk Chocolate Chip cookie. That was it, one type of cookie. Can you believe that it went from that to ... this?
Well, in homage to its roots, Crumbl developed a flavor called Aggie Blue Mint, the 16th best Crumbl Cookies flavor in our opinion. The campus has a creamery famous for its original concept ice cream; a blue (for the football team's colors) minty option stuffed with cookies and cream. So, Crumbl's cookie is a mirror image of that local pride point. It's a chilled, buttery cookies and cream cookie topped with a sweet, pretty swirl of minty Aggie Blue buttercream frosting. What a shoutout.
15. Pineapple Whip
So, have you ever had the genuine pleasure of experiencing one of those amazing Dole Whips at Disneyworld or Disneyland? If so, you're a lucky duck, because you have A. been to the happiest place on earth and B. enjoyed one of the happiest treats on earth. Tart, sweet, bright, tropical — it's a summer's dream come true. And with Crumbl's Dole Whip cookie, you don't need to go all the way to a Disney park to savor the flavor again.
The Dole Whip is that yellow frosting you can see right there in the picture, on top of a cakey pineapple-dappled cookie. Oh, and it has a sun-kiss of whipped cream, too. A bite of the fluffy, delightful cookie base plus the cool, magical topping is arguably better than a trip to the Haunted Mansion.
Customers loved it so much that Crumbl featured it in its final cookie flavor lineup of 2021. We can't wait for it to come back again.
14. Cookie Dough
Now, this cookie tastes like a fully baked cookie, raw cookie dough, and cookie dough ice cream ... all at once. It's a fresh-baked Crumbl Cookie Dough miracle. Let's break this thing down. This brilliant original cookie deserves all the awards for ingenuity and perfectly pinning down the flavors it's going for. Start with a chilled chewy brown sugar cookie that tastes like a slightly underbaked (in the best way, of course) homemade chocolate chip cookie standby, but with a little extra something that only Crumbl can do.
It's the frosting part that really shakes things up: ice cream-inspired cookie dough buttercream. Yes, you read that right. And since no cookie would be complete without a topping, enjoy every bite of those tasty chunks of cookie dough pieces. How could it possibly not be amazing? When it returns to the lineup, snatch this hybrid up. Last thought before moving on; do you know what would be ridiculously good? Two of these with cookie dough ice cream in between. Now that would be the best ice cream sandwich ever sandwiched. Cookie Dough ranks No. 14 on our list of the top Crumbl cookie creations.
13. Chocolate Cake
Crumbl has featured a ton of wildly creative confections in each of its ever-evolving lineups. Cotton Candy, Blueberry Muffin, Peach Cobbler, Aggie Blue Mint ... the team works extraordinarily hard over at corporate to brainstorm the next surprisingly amazing flavor combo you've probably never heard of (or thought of). But that being said, sometimes you want one thing more than all the fruity, festive, or flowery possibilities.
Sometimes all you want — or perhaps more accurately need — is chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. And only chocolate will do. The platonic ideal of chocolate is a luscious, fudgy, rich chocolate cake, so naturally Crumbl had to tackle the challenge of getting all that infamous goodness packed into one of its cookies. And yes folks, by George, Crumbl got it. Is it a cookie? Yes. Is it a cake? Somewhat. Is it chocolate? Yes. Is it perfect? A thousand times, yes.
12. Maple Cinnamon Roll
Taking that first bite of a warm, gooey, classic cinnamon roll is one of life's most cozy joys. In fact, the treat has even entered the common vernacular to describe a wholesome, good human being that usually "should be protected at all costs." Well, anyone who gets ahold of this Crumbl cookie might not feel quite so wholesome if someone else asks for a bite. It's a little too good to share.
The cookie has a basic sweet base but is infused with an enticing swirl of cinnamon streusel. Even without any icing, it would be a great cookie. The twist is that, while cinnamon rolls typically have a melty confectioner's sugar glaze or maybe a cream cheese frosting if someone's feeling fancy, this Crumbl cookie's icing tastes of maple syrup. Altogether, it creates a Maple Cinnamon Roll that somehow elevates a regular bun to an even cozier status. We agreed that it was a welcome addition to the Crumbl rotation.
11. Ultimate Peanut Butter
Crumbl Cookies really goes big on its peanut butter options. There's classic peanut butter, Reese's peanut butter, PB&J, Buckeye Brownie, and, of course, Ultimate Peanut Butter. The store's peanut butter cookies might involve peanut butter frostings, fillings, drizzles, chips, and more. This one is both extravagant and a bit of a purist; there is no frosting or fluff. Just more and more peanut butter.
This a classic peanut butter cookie, the kind you could make at home. But it also has a secret peanut butter filling, making it intensely nutty, like a peanut butter sandwich but instead of bread, there are cookies. You'll also enjoy a drizzle of peanut butter on the top. Peanut butter on top, in the cookie itself, and sandwiched inside? It's a lot, and that's exactly what some people (like me!) want. It's served warm, making the peanut butter filling nice and melty, too. It's definitely one that needs milk.
10. Orange Milkshake
We're now getting into the top 10 of Crumble Cookies flavors. This cookie delivers more of what you love: Orange Milkshake. It's another chilled sugar cookie, but this time it's filled with bright, zesty chunks of honest to goodness oranges. The topping is a citrusy delight, and a bright, lovely, creamy orange buttercream. The best part may just be the mini slice of juicy fruit (orange, of course) resting casually atop its milkshake mountain.
Orange often gets the short end of the stick when it comes to citrus desserts: Key lime pie became a Crumbl cookie, and lemons are everywhere in the baking world (actually Crumbl has created quite a few lemony offerings like See Lemon Glaze, Lemon Poppy Seed, Lemon Bar, and Lemon Chiffon ... lots of lemons turned into lemonade) but orange? It's a tough one to find.
This Crumbl cookie should change everyone's minds and get them baking orange bars, orange meringue pie, orange crinkle cookies, and serving them all up alongside an enormous whipped-cream-coated orange milkshake. Milkshakes are supposed to be refreshing, right? Make them orange and emphasize the freshness factor of an otherwise filling dessert.
9. French Toast
We have already discussed the great debate on the best breakfast item: Pancakes, waffles, or French toast. Crumbl has all three covered in cookie forms so that you don't have to just decide which is the best as a breakfast, but which is the best as a cookie. Decisions, decisions. Delicious decisions.
The French Toast Crumbl cookie is quite unique. First of all, it's in a square shape while most Crumbl cookies are round. Secondly, the texture is very different. It's designed to actually resemble that of French toast: soft and squishy like custardy bread (only much sweeter). It tastes distinctly of everything that makes French toast so beloved: butter, maple syrup, and hints of vanilla and cinnamon, plus a dusting of powdered sugar. Add on a big dollop of extremely butter-forward buttercream, and you've got a winner. This is a great, special kind of Crumbl cookie that is worth stocking up on when it's added to the weekly lineup.
8. Buckeye Brownie
A fan-favorite combines chocolate and peanut butter, which make a perfect pairing and are perhaps the greatest two foods of all time, in the best possible way. A thick, yet somehow rather fluffy, yet somehow also rather creamy layer of peanut butter that tastes uncannily like the inside of a Reese's peanut butter cup sits proudly atop a rich, dense chocolate cookie. But it's not over yet; there are still two more elements of chocolate to make the whole thing ridiculously decadent.
Hidden away inside the cookie are pops of melty semisweet chocolate chips, and the final product is doused in a schmear of equally melty chocolate-syrup-like sauce. Yes, the cookie is served warm, and yes, a cold glass of milk is an absolute must. This is the richest, indubitably ultimate chocolate and peanut butter cookie experience. Crumbl outdid itself over here. Just imagine getting these instead of fun-sized candy bars when trick-or-treating.
7. Maple Bacon
Crumbl has not pursued the savory path very far. The most notable exception was a highly polarizing Everything Bagel cookie, a not-so-sweet cookie with a swirl of cream cheese (not cream cheese frosting) that went big on the salt and sesame but didn't go so far as to incorporate garlic and onion. It was a risky move. Thankfully, this Maple Bacon cookie plays it slightly safer by keeping the savory element to simply some warm bacon bits sprinkled on top. The rest of the cookie, actually, is remarkably sweet.
The base cookie is super buttery and soft, with a brunch-like flavor reminiscent of pancakes. The frosting is a giant, no-holds-barred swirl of sugary maple buttercream. Since maple syrup is a sweetener in and of itself, having the buttercream flavored with maple syrup doubles down on the sweetness. Thus, having bacon on top almost makes total sense: The saltiness and hint of smoke break through the maple barrier. If you love maple like this team does, you will love this cookie. And while many Crumbl cookies beg you to take just one more bite, this one is heavy enough that it's extra easy to save some for later.
6. Hawaiian Rainbow Cake
And now we're coming around to one of the absolute best Crumbl cookie creations, especially if you like coconut. No. 6 in our best of Crumbl ranking is Hawaiian Rainbow Cake.
The cookie base is sugary sweet with hints of buttery and vanilla flavor notes and a moist yet cakey texture. Coconut cream pie has nothing on this. Obviously a cookie, it's a cake-batter-inspired cookie, so it's pretty much the best of both worlds. The real star of the show, though, is the frosting. It's a silky, smooth, and sweet swipe of coconut cream cheese icing lightly tie-dyed in rainbow hues.
This colorful, happy tropical beauty strikes the perfect balance between all its elements; it's lightly beachy but never aggressively coconutty in that horrific sunscreen-like way that other coconut desserts can veer toward. This is coconut treated with all the respect it deserves, spot-on in flavor but in a nicely executed way. If Hawaiian Rainbow Cake comes back on the menu, soak in these bites of sunshine while you can.
5. Birthday Cake featuring Oreo
This just seems too good to be true, too indulgent, too ingenious, and too dreamy, doesn't it? A dense, thick, spot-on Oreo-infused base takes Milk's Favorite Cookie to never-before-seen heights. Milk would barely recognize this behemoth.
Birthday Cake featuring Oreo is so much better than those (comparably) tiny and store-bought snacks. The final product is seemingly a few hundred or so of them smashed together and repurposed into a new monster cookie creation. Then that monster cookie goes even further; it gets frosted in an equally rich swirl of cake-batter flavored and cream-cheese bolstered icing.
So, this frosting, huh? It's an immensely clever envisioning of a classic Oreo cream filling because the scent of cake batter goes a long way in achieving that familiar flavor profile. Slip one of the teeny-tiny Oreo cake-pops in your mouth before diving into the whole cookie. Admire the cheerful scatter of birthday sprinkles. Last but not least, thank Crumbl for doing the absolute most, generously giving the best gift in celebration of a classic Oreo.
4. Caramel Popcorn
Have you tried those popcorn-flavored jelly beans? Those are kind of weird, honestly. Sometimes food mashups aren't meant to be. And if other popcorn-inspired treats have let you down with their artificial butter residue and left you with kernel-flossed teeth, you may want to call the whole thing off. Not so fast: this Caramel Popcorn Crumbl offering breaks the trend and is a breakout star. The base cookie is rather hard to pin down flavor-wise but certainly tastes good. It's an intensely buttery cookie that's more robust and nuanced than a basic sugar cookie. Also, it remains golden with toasty warmth even after it's been out of the oven for a few hours.
Caramel Popcorn's got a great chewy texture that you can really sink your teeth into without getting kernels stuck in them. And you'll have to really sink your teeth into this particular cookie when getting a big mouthful, because when you try to fit the base, a towering wall of frosting, a real caramel puddle over that, and the cluster of authentically sticky caramel corn (now that might require some floss, though) all at once — it's a huge bite to take, indeed.
It's definitely a commitment to take that first bite, but a surprisingly easy task to continue to another one. That thick, soft caramel frosting could be a meal all by itself; you'll want to spread it on top of every dessert you eat afterwards.
3. Classic Pink Sugar
Crumbl's classic pink sugar cookie is classic to the brand, but the flavor is actually a little different than what you would expect from a typical sugar cookie. The base is pretty basic with a nice short, tender, and slightly chewy crumb with a sweet hint of butter and vanilla. One of Crumbl's signature touches is leaving the center of the cookie just a little bit underbaked, and it's no different here.
The twist occurs in the icing, which is not just a basic, powdered sugar glaze. The icing has some substance to it, making it more of a frosting. The flavor, meanwhile, has some vanilla but is mostly a light, floral, aromatic almond. In a few bites, the "extract" essence made it taste minimally artificial, but overall, the almond is a wonderful way to elevate the expected profile of a sugar cookie and make it into a Crumbl classic.
2. Peanut Butter featuring Snickers
Oh, this one has it all! Two of the greatest, most coveted Halloween candy steals (or regular old grocery run candy steals) make a truce to stop competing and start working together ... and man, do they work together. While no Reese's are officially present, you can't help but think of them when trying this cookie base. It's perfectly peanut buttery, not too dense or dry, not too chewy or gooey, not too cakey or sweet, but the right balance between all opposing forces.
This No. 2 Crumbl cookie defies expectation and tradition by mixing in not chocolate chips, raisins, or other typical discoveries, but that other incredible hunger-crushing chocolate bar, the Snickers. Those chopped candy chunks add so much complexity to the cookie, because every Snickers has layers of nuts, caramel, and milk chocolate.
If there's a traditional fork-made cross-hatch pattern on top, well, no one would know, because the whole cookie is blanketed in a frosting that emphasizes arguably the best element of a Snickers, the caramel. Caramel flavors the luscious, indulgent buttercream, making it sweet but in a way that lines up with the cookie base perfectly. And don't forget those crumbled Snickers bars scattered on top of the whole dessert just in case you're, you know, extra hungry.
1. Snickerdoodle Cupcake
The best Crumbl cookie of all time is Crumbl's riff on another cookie but elevated to God-tier through the help of yet another dessert inspiration. Here's the deal: If you love Snickerdoodles but do believe they often come out a little bit plain, try this more ornate version. First, you do have a classic snickerdoodle foundation. It's neither bland, nor flat, nor overly crunchy, nor overly chewy. It's a thick, sweet, cinnamon-infused round that's the best snickerdoodle imaginable. Next, on top, you've got your frosting, which is something a regular old snickerdoodle only wishes it had.
A soft, luxurious cream cheese swirl dusted with cinnamon sugar is piped generously and lovingly around the circumference, and it's just what a classic snickerdoodle needs. That's the "cupcake" part of it; pair the cakey cookie base with this fluffy frosting, and it's very, very reminiscent of a cupcake that expanded sideways instead of upward in the baking process.
But it's also nodding at warm homemade cinnamon rolls with their cream cheese icing drips and absolutely irresistible aroma that will never go out of style. This is the perfect dessert mashup and the perfect Crumbl cookie ... for now, at least. Says one reviewer, "Snickerdoodle was my first cookie I ever tried and it was my favorite!" And when you've seen all the other delicious options there are to compare it to, sticking with your first love says a whole lot.
Methodology
Since Crumbl only offers six cookie flavors per week, one of which is always either the classic Milk Chocolate Chip or Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk, it is not like we were able to try all of the ones listed above all at once. Instead, across many weeks, we kept a running list and slipped the latest cookie that we tried into its slot, between one and after another, until we had this one master ranking. We took this ranking pretty darn seriously. We judged each cookie based on a combination of a few essential factors: taste, texture, and presentation as well as how these factors all work together.
Every Crumbl cookie has its strengths, but the best cookies were truly stacked from top to bottom with winning elements. From smooth buttercreams to crispy cookie edges, when you find your new favorite, you wish you'd bought backups to freeze for later. Enjoy!
