Easy Mango Salsa Recipe

When most people think of fresh salsa recipes, they think of the traditional tomato-based salsa with some chopped onions and a few other ingredients. But if you are looking for a fun twist on your average salsa, this easy mango salsa will knock your socks off. Rather than diced tomato, this recipe calls for fresh mangoes as its main ingredient and it also includes a few other traditional salsa ingredients like lime and cilantro that complement the mango so perfectly. This dish is great served with tortilla chips or on top of fish tacos.

Recipe developer Catherine Brookes of Blue Sky Eating came up with this fruit-filled mango salsa that will take your salsa to a new level. "This mango salsa is so fresh and fruity with an amazing combination of sweetness, spiciness, and tartness! It's a delicious addition to so many Mexican dishes!" Brookes raves. She also shares why she loves this fruity twist on salsa. "It's something a little different with more color and sweetness," she shares. Are you convinced yet?

Gather the ingredients for this easy mango salsa

Most of the ingredients you need for this recipe can be found in the produce section. Just grab ripe mangos, red onion, cherry tomatoes, a red chili pepper, lime, cilantro, salt, and pepper to taste. "You could sub the tomatoes for finely diced red bell pepper if desired," Brookes notes.

Once you have those things, you can make this fresh mango salsa.

Dice the fruits and veggies

You will need a cutting board and a sharp knife for this step. Grab your mango first, and make sure to dice it into 1-centimeter chunks. Then, finely chop the red onion, tomatoes, chili pepper, and cilantro.

"Make sure to dice everything nice and small as this ensures that every serving contains a little of every ingredient," Brookes suggests.

Add chopped ingredients to a bowl

Take out a mixing bowl and add all the ingredients you chopped. Then, squeeze over the lime and add a little bit of salt and pepper to taste. All these ingredients combined produces the perfect flavor. "The taste is sweet and juicy with sharpness from the lime and onion and a little spice from the chili," Brookes notes.

Mix the ingredients and serve

Use a spoon to mix the ingredients together to combine. Now, you can transfer to a serving bowl and spoon and plate as you wish. Talk about the easiest recipe ever!

Of course, this salsa goes great with a number of things, but Brookes provides her favorite serving suggestions. "It's great added to Mexican dishes such as tacos or fajitas, or simply for loading onto corn chips!" Brookes raves. Not sure if you will have much left but if you do, be sure to save it. "It will keep well covered in the fridge up to 3 days," Brookes shares.

We hope you and your family and friends love this salsa as much as we do!
