Your Favorite Little Debbie Snacks Have Inspired 7 New Ice Cream Flavors

What do you remember from your elementary school years? Right up there with sports meets, living room sleepovers, and landline telephone gossip, after school snacks are a classic part of being a kid. And while most parents might hope that their children would grab an organic apple or unsweetened yogurt as an afternoon pick-me-up, the fact is that many flocked to the nearest corner store to pick up a candy bar, bag of chips, or packaged Little Debbie treat.

Whether your indulgence of choice was a fluffy glazed Honey Bun, a crispy, peanut buttery Nutty Buddy, or a classic creme-filled chocolate cupcake, there was just something special about plopping down your hard-earned allowance money and tearing into that sugar-coated plastic packaging. And now, that nostalgia is available in frozen form, thanks to a collaboration between the snack cake company and Michigan-based ice cream maker Hudsonville Ice Cream. Read on to get the scoop(s).

Seven flavors of snack cake goodness

Founded in Hudsonville, Michigan in the early 1900s, Hudsonville Ice Cream has been churning classic flavors such as cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, and butter pecan ever since. And now, the creamery is creating a new ice cream line based on another time-tested treat with its Little Debbie-inspired flavors.

According to a press release, Hudsonville is releasing seven new dessert-flavored pints that will be available at select Walmart stores starting February 1. Retailing for $2.50 each, the available varieties are Oatmeal Creme Pies, Cosmic Brownies, Zebra Cakes, Honey Buns, Strawberry Shortcake Rolls, Swiss Rolls, and Nutty Bars, each frozen delight featuring flavor elements of their eponymous snack cakes. Via the press release, the inspiration for this partnership sprung up over Christmas last year, when the companies partnered on a Little Debbie Christmas Trees Cakes ice cream that immediately became a hit.

The new flavors will be available year round, so if you're in the mood to relive your childhood with a cool, creamy scoop you can visit your closest Walmart anytime to pick up one of these nostalgic pints.
