Sweet And Tangy BBQ Sauce Recipe

"The best thing about this recipe is how quick and easy it is to make, using basic store cupboard ingredients and just one pan," Brookes raves. "It's great to make in a big batch and store in the fridge to use for dipping fries in or for marinating meats." 

Gather the ingredients for this sweet and tangy BBQ sauce

You will just need to grab a handful of items for this sauce. Pick up tomato ketchup, white wine vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, honey, and vegetable oil.

Add the ingredients to a saucepan

Grab a large saucepan and toss in all of your ingredients. This includes tomato ketchup, white wine vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, honey, and vegetable oil. Once you have done that, place the saucepan on your stove.

Heat the ingredients

Turn the stove to medium heat and wait for the sauce to begin boiling. Once you see bubbles reach the surface, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for another 5 minutes. How easy is that? 

Once the 5 minutes are up, you can remove the saucepan from heat. "The taste is sweet and smoky, with a nice balance of acidity from the vinegar too," Brookes shares. Yum! 

Serve this sweet and tangy BBQ sauce as desired

Once you remove the sauce from heat, the only other thing that you need to do is transfer it to a serving bowl of your choice. Then, you can dip or spread at your leisure.

This sweet and tangy BBQ sauce would be a hit for any occasion, especially a backyard barbecue! Brookes also provides some of her favorite ways to serve this wonderful sauce. "It's great to rub onto meat such as pork ribs or chicken thighs before grilling. You can also use it as a dressing on salads or a dip for veggies, fries, [or] chicken nuggets," Brookes suggests. 

Make sure you store the leftovers

Another great part about this sweet and tangy BBQ sauce is that it lasts for quite some time. All you need to do is store it in an airtight container in the fridge, and it you can keep it for up to two weeks. So, if you want to double the batch just to have, that would be a great idea!

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups tomato ketchup
  • ⅓ cup white wine vinegar
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
