Krispy Kreme Welcomes Fall Early With New Pumpkin Spice Collection
When it comes to our love for pumpkin spice-flavored goodies, time — even seasons — are but a construct. Though much of the country is in the grips of an unprecedented summer heatwave, Krispy Kreme is looking to bring a bit of the fall season to its shops with an early release of some pumpkin spice-themed donuts.
It's maybe one of the sweetest ways you can get your pumpkin fix this season. The warmly spiced pastries are debuting at participating Krispy Kreme locations starting on August 7th, featuring two new and two returning pumpkin spice-flavored donuts, available for a limited time. Additionally, donut fanatics will also be able to pick up six-packs featuring two of these pumpkin-filled flavors at select grocery stores around the country. In a press release, Krispy Kreme Chief Brand Officer Dave Skena said, "[By] combining two new pumpkin spice doughnuts with two fan favorites, we're saying to the spice AND our fans, 'P.S., we love you!'"

The two returning flavors include the Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut, a craggy and dense favorite, and the Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Doughnut, a spice-infused take on Krispy Kreme's signature pastry. For the newer donuts, Krispy Kreme is incorporating some other delightful fall flavors, like maple pecan and tangy cheesecake. The Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Swirl Doughnut features piped coils of spiced buttercream and rich cheesecake. Meanwhile, the Pumpkin Spice Maple Pecan Doughnut introduces a golden maple glaze and chopped, candied pecans, adding a crunchy textural note to the mix. Of course, the dominant flavor of each donut is pumpkin spice, which often includes a blend of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
Surprisingly, this is the second time that Krispy Kreme has rolled out the pumpkin spice flavors this year. On April Fool's Day, the donut chain offered a tongue-in-cheek two-day return of the pumpkin spice donuts. Though August may feel a bit early, it's at least closer to that target fall season. If you're open to having a well-spiced treat no matter the time of year, Krispy Kreme has the pastries to whet your appetite.
