On the 7th and 8th of this month, you can find this flavor in select stores and by ordering on the Krispy Kreme app and website. World Chocolate Day was first established in 2009 and is recognized by businesses across the globe. In the six years since this donut was first introduced, it has become a Krispy Kreme favorite.

The special release of the chocolate glaze was symbolic of the moon blocking out the sun. Even though total solar eclipses are not rare, it's uncommon to be able to see one from any one spot on land since much of the Earth's surface is water. Since that initial time when its Chocolate Glazed donuts hit the racks, their sightings have been nearly as infrequent as total solar eclipses. And given that the brand chooses the occasion to release them carefully, this might be the only time in 2023 that fans of the donut will be able to find it.
