Is Starbucks Open For Memorial Day 2023?

When Memorial Day was declared a national holiday by an act of Congress in 1971, it was customary for businesses to close as a way to honor those who lost their lives while defending the United States. But, as time has progressed, the list of businesses closed on the last Monday in May has dwindled to just a handful. As it is also a federal holiday (observed May 29 this year), local banks and government offices won't be open. On the private sector side of things, UPS, FedEx, and Costco have announced they will also be closed, but don't worry, Starbucks will be open.

Granted, you will need to double-check with your go-to location, but historically, Starbucks has been there to fuel your holiday errands. In fact, the only days most Starbucks locations close are Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. So when you're driving around frantically to buy the always-forgotten hamburger buns or the vegan patties for your visiting cousin, stop for a caffeinated treat along the way.

Starbucks will be open on Memorial Day

Before a day behind the grill, it may be wise to stay hydrated with fun summer drinks like the Pineapple Passionfruit Lemonade or the aesthetically pleasing Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade.

Or, you can switch it up and order something from the secret menu. A Thin Mint Frappucino is the perfect way to cool down after you run around doing last-minute errands. You can also sign up to play the Starbucks Summer Game for a chance to win a trip for two to one of the coffee chain's 20 most unique and beautiful locations.

And, if you happen to see an active member of the armed forces in line, thank them for their services by picking up their tab. You just never know how such an act of gratitude might brighten their day — especially on a holiday as significant as Memorial Day.
