Dessert lovers are about to get the opportunity to have early, exclusive access to Milk Bar treats, as well as offer feedback to its pastry chefs in a new delivery service set to roll out at the start of 2023.

Putting a unique twist on classic treats, Milk Bar was created in 2008 by pastry chef Christina Tosi inside New York City's Momofuku, according to QSR, which listed the bakery as one of the top fast casual startups in the U.S. in 2019. One of Milk Bar's best-selling items is the Birthday Cake, which has three layers of rainbow-flecked vanilla birthday cake, creamy frosting, and crunchy crumbs. Other offerings include custard-style ice cream that comes in flavors such as Cereal Milk, Cornflake Chocolate Chip Marshmallow, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Crush.

Milk Bar currently has locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Boston, and Washington, D.C., and besides the brick-and-mortar stores in these locations, you can also purchase its cookies, cakes, and other pastries online for nationwide delivery. The news continues to come from this beloved shop, as only this month, Milk Bar announced a partnership with Original Donut Shop to create the Cup o' Cookie, which is a jar filled with vanilla custard and a cake topped with a chocolate chip-covered pretzel potato cookie. Their latest offering hopes to allow more people to see how (as Tosi's book claims) desserts can save the world.

An early taste

Sharing your love of Milk Bar treats is about to get much easier. The company has launched a dessert subscription service called First Bite Club that allows subscribers to get a sneak taste of new treats and provide feedback, according to the company. The small-batch treats will have recently been developed by the research and development kitchen for Milk Bar and will then be sent to First Bite Club subscribers around the country. These treats won't even be on Milk Bar's menu yet, says the company, although they may have been available in the L.A. and N.Y.C. flagship stores, but only in limited amounts.

The delivered treats will still be in development, allowing subscribers to provide feedback as the culinary team continues to develop the treat. Only a limited amount of First Bite Club memberships are offered and will be available in 3-month or 6-month packages. The first boxes of deliciousness will be shipped out in early January and will contain Chocolate Chip Pancake Truffles, according to Milk Bar. Unfortunately, as of December 13, First Bite Club memberships are full, but there is the option to be notified when more spots open up.
