Hahn shares that "As a wellness coach, I find that most people don't eat enough fruit, and smoothies are a great way to get fruit into your diet with little effort." Hahn goes on to say, "This is a pretty light smoothie [that] pairs well with avocado toast or a tofu scramble, if you are looking for a heartier breakfast." Keep reading to find out how to make this easy smoothie recipe.

Gather your ingredients for the strawberry cinnamon smoothie

To make this smoothie recipe, you only need 5 ingredients: Medjool dates, frozen strawberries, milk, banana, and cinnamon. Hahn tells us that the dates do a great job of sweetening the smoothie, while keeping it free of refined sugar. "I like to use Ceylon cinnamon because it has a higher antioxidant count. There isn't a taste difference, [but] standard cinnamon is fine to use in this recipe." Also, Hahn tells us that you can use any type of milk.

Soften the dates

To make our smoothie extra creamy and delicious, we want to make sure we soften the dates before blending them. To do this, put them in a small pot with water, and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium, and let simmer for 10 minutes. Then, remove from heat, let them cool for 1 to 2 minutes, and remove the pits if necessary.

Blend and serve the smoothie

Blend the soft dates, frozen strawberries, milk, banana, and cinnamon for a couple of minutes, until the mixture is completely smooth. Pour it into 2 glasses, and now you can drink this creamy, strawberry cinnamon smoothie. "Smoothies aren't known for being a make-ahead item, but you can prep smoothies for the week by making individual baggies with the softened dates, banana, and cinnamon, and keep them lined up in your fridge. The morning of, you can dump 1 baggie into the blender with the milk and frozen strawberries to save a few steps," Hahn shares.
